I just wondering if it is worth to get the first spot in google in this case. My niche site can ba easly ranked to the top but when i check google for the main KW i see 3 Ads, then 7 promoted sites with map location and my site even if it is on 1 place for the regular internet user who is looking for information about this particular topic it looks like my site is on 8 spot not 1. In soma cases i noticed that 1 spot come up between those 3 ads and the sponsored, marked on map sites. How does it work ? Is it still worth to invest time in this particular KW ?

Thanks

Karol

In this scenario you should focus on paid campaign or try to rank your own Google maps listing. Because if you even get 1st spot in organic search, chances are very less for getting clicks.

Depending on the keyword, yes it could very well be worth working on the keyword.

With good keywords people go down farther than the top site. A lot of times you will get traffic with page 2 listings, not that you want page 2 or will get the best quality traffic on page 2.

If you are under those listings make sure your title and description set you apart from those above you.

Those listings above you are probably not much to worry about. The 7 map listings are local to you so unless your site is a local site they have very little affect on anything. In other areas there may be 3 map listing in another none, in another you may be above those listings in in between them.
The other 3 listings may also be local or may not.

Work on multiple keywords that are relevant and it will all sort itself out.
Don't forget the long tail keywords.

Local listings are worth worrying about dude. It's called vertical search result. It's Google that determines that. So even if you optimize your page to rank pretty high and it does rank high, It won't surpass the local listings Google has put in place.

Google knows the best way to render results for their users. What I'll suggest you do is add your site the Google Place so your site may be privileged to show up among those other local listings.

Another thing to do is to try as much as you can to rank for multiple keywords and not just one. So that you may achieve high rankings for those keywords that doesn't have local listings showing up in the result page.

And, yet, I come across sites that are ahead of "the local listings Google has put in place" daily. And, yet, I've surpassed "the local listings Google has put in place."

      Google
      Pasadena home insurance
      for instance.

      That's not true.

There's plenty of organic search listing above the local 7-packs.

Also, local listings isn't all that, Google could very well narrow that list down to a measly 3-pack which means 4 other locals won't be seen.

The thing we don't know here is, is this a local listing or a regular keyword like "weight loss".
If it is a regular keyword then it will vary from place to place on what is above it.
Oh, and yes you can get above the maps listings.

I'd use Google Keyword Planner and check search volume for whatever you are trying to rank for and also Adwords to see what other people are paying to get traffic for that keyword.

This is KW for a local business. Also was thinking about building PBN or it is better to buy few links ? This will be my first web but i want to do it right way. What would be more valueable ? To buy one link from topic related site or buy a good expiring domain with good stats high pr/ trust flow and put few articles on it and link to my local business site ?

If it is a local business you should work on getting the maps listing and on adwords.

Don't forget to use some long tail keywords in your adwords campaign. Track what keywords bring traffic and convert to sales.

By working with adwords and learning it, not just throwing up a couple quick keywords you will learn how a lot. You will find some great keywords you never thought of and may actually find adwords more profitable that working on an seo campaign.

Think outside the box, come up with some keywords that have searches but little to no competition. If they work on adwords they likely will work on organic as well.

I would still push on the KW - every little bit helps, and you never know how the algorithms will change in the future. So keep doing what your doing.

If you can get the top organic listing, a front page maps listing and a adwords listing then you are golden.

Keywords I have done that on often get tons of traffic.

When people see your site listed 3 times at the top part of page one they think your site must be something special.
