2 questions regarding buyer keywords and EMDs

Hi everyone, I was wondering about the importance of a buyer keyword such as "keyword reviews" over just the regular keyword on its own. I ask because I have a found a product keyword with 4000 local searches monthly, with seemingly low SERP competition. However, adding a buyer keyword to it such as "reviews" significantly reduces the searches (<50). In your opinion, is it worth pursuing with just the product keyword, with the intention to create an affiliate product website?

For my second question, in the following situation, what would be the best domain name for SEO purposes if any:

keywords.com - (plural of keyword)
keyword.net - (.com not available)

Thanks for your time!

At this day in age I don't think it will really matter whether or not the "s" is included. To answer your first question, if the product has a high paying commission then it may be worth creating. Lots of people search for reviews when they're ready (or close to being ready) to buy..That's exactly why so many people (especially those doing Clickbank) target them.

If it doesn't get many searches and the competition isn't very high..You might even be able to get a subdomain ranked. Just create a nice one page site at blogspot or tumblr or something.. Drive backlinks to it and that might be enough to do what you need.

here is my opinion on URL's it flat out does not matter if you have a EMD or not. keyword.com and whateverdomain.com/keyword gives you the exact same results. I personally prefer the 2nd choice so I am not concerning myself with stuffing the URL.

In regards to keyword targeting. in MANY of the niches I play in I target terms that Google says gets zero searches and do quite well. so if they are saying there is 50... yeah I would be on that. its a page of content for goodness sakes - why pass it up?
