Hi friends,
We all know Google is updating the algorithms quite frequently. Earlier the characters used in meta description was around 160 and title was 60. May I know according to latest updates what is regarded as the best characters for meta description. And one more thing is can we use keywords in the title and description?

Yes, you should use two of your keywords in meta description and around 1-2 keywords in title + some catchy text.

The optimal solution is to use keywords (specially in title) in way that it catches visitors attention and also should be related to the page contents itself else otherwise your site may experience high bounce rate.

Title should be keywords focused while meta description should be like summary of the page- it worth using keyword in meta description too for better conversion.
Title length should be less than 66 characters- while recommended length for meta description is 150 char.

Before you start to think about keywords, think about your potential visitor. Think about what they want. When they search a keyword you are ranking for, will your title and description make them click on your site rather than the other nine - not to mentional all the sponsored listings. You have to stand out from the crowd.

Add your keyword naturally within the title. The meta description is to be used as your sales pitch to make browsers click your site. Adding keywords in the description is proven to increase click through rate but it is not essential to get a site ranked.

    Regarding lengths:
Title: keep it between 55 - 60 characters as Google now list titles based on the pixel width and not the number of characters.
Meta description: keep this 155 characters or under.

Google does not use any of that for any algorithm ranking websites.

Why would you want to try and limit something by doing some idiotic
meta description that google may or may not even use?

Title your page what it's about. Simple, actually.
