How to find reliable, reputable, effective SEO help

I have done pretty well on my own with SEO and I am certainly no expert, I just mostly do on page SEO with some links here and there. But it's a narrow niche, not tremendous competition. I would consider hiring an expert to help me get even better results. But how in the world do you figure out who is for real and can produce results? I have been on this forum for years and if there is anything I am sure of, there is very little that people agree on. I can post a question about just about any SEO subject and one expert who seems to know his stuff will say it's white and another expert just as convincing will say it's black. How do I find effective help and direction to improve SEO?

i used to say about SEO that if you ask a question from 4 experts, you may find 4 different answers and all 4 answers may be correct.

    here is a quick solution:
as u have been studying a lot by yourself, just study some tutorials from SEOMoz (now its only Moz) and ask the seo persons to submit an initial proposal before hiring, the proposal more aligned to Moz practices will be more authentic

Firstly, you said you have done SEO and got some level of fair success.

With that little exposure of yours, you should also have a fair idea
on who is making sense around here and who isn't.

Secondly, you mentioned being on the forum for years.

    Who is your mentor?
Whom have your followed or love or respect his opinion?
All these while do you want to tell me that you didn't interact with anybody?

If you don't have a satisfactory answer for any of the above that means you should
start looking out for your SEO charm by visiting the SEO section more often.

  • I would look at (most) SEO techniques as trial and error. What works for others may not work well for you but the only thing you need to do is to test this yourself.

Another thing to consider is time and effort. Doing SEO takes a lot of effort and it will take some time before you can see the results.

As long as you properly document everything (track your work and track the results), you can know which techniques are working for you and which ones are not.

Every month we hear a bad news on SEO as Google comes with new algorithm, just stick to the forum to move on building links.

If you are unable to submit links high reputable sites, then hire someone who can do. So many SOEO companies are failing to achieve the goals seeking advice is also waste in these days.

While reading here so many threads a lot of people posts same question every day.

Some of the companies they show some great feedback on their front page but it was for last algorithm not current.

The best way is to try and test it out yourself. Track your campaigns, try different strategies, settings.

There are lot of crap SEO information out there from so-called experts.

But there is one community which i have tried and can recommend - called SEOtraffichacks by Terry Kyle

Avoid Indian SEO companies. No matter how good an SEO company is there are unfortunately no guarantees in SEO. We as SEO experts cannot guarantee that you wil rank in first position but we can help get you more exposure. If you want guaranteed results then you need to invest in Pay per click.

By consulting all this condition you can hire
    1.Decide what you need.
2.Get multiple consultant but keep it secret.
    3.Get case studies and references.

If you're reluctant to hire someone, then you should try and do the on-page SEO yourself, if you have the time. The problem with what you are talking about is that what works for one website or one person might not work for someone else... The important thing to keep in mind is that there are some basic on page and off page SEO techniques that definitely work: good content, long tail keywords, building quality backlinks and so on (they're all mentioned in most SEO threads here), so follow those rules and test, test, test.

I know you are doing on-page SEO for your website. But since you mentioned that you are looking for an expert to help you with your SEO campaign, do you consider outsourcing it with a very reliable SEO service provider? Most online marketers are outsourcing their projects to various SEO service providers, as doing SEO for yourself is time-consuming.

I've been there before, I tried to do SEO myself and it is also time consuming as well, so I found out that outsourcing with a reliable SEO team is a good way to go. Outsourcing SEO is one way for you to, but it's your choice if you want to go for it or not. Let me know if this could be the possible answer that you are looking for.

    Thanks!

    Jeff

Don't believe the B.S. michael hill said. Who cares about Moz or any other SEO agency's preaching (including mine).

Just ask yourself this question: "If e.g. I were techcrunch, who would link to me? What would my backlink profile look like? How will my articles be shared online? Who will be sharing it?"

    Chances are:
    - Tech/digital/Internet related websites would link to them
    - Mostly linked to them from random technology/news related blogs and several from other extremely reputable tech news site. (would random blogs and directories link to them (which is what stupid SEO agencies do)? Possibly, but an overwhelming majority would come from the above mentioned list.
    - It will probably be shared on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. (Think about it, it would be odd if ppl shared it on Instagram, so don't spam such links... it's bad)
    - Most of the people sharing would be people interested in technology/digital/Internet and by pages related to that too. A minority would be by random people.

If an SEO agency cannot even tell you the above honestly - it's a piece of crap SEO agency. Listen to the truth, always trust your brain. If a particular 'technique' looks odd, it most likely is bad for your SEO.
