Hi,

Can any one List Factors involved in getting good Ranking in Local SEO ? Bye the way i build all the Citation that i could for my business , what is next ?

    Citations and a bit of good backlinking go a long way for local terms. Try to get yourself some authority links, whether through PBNs, paid sponsored links, guest posting or outreach.

      This works.

      Better yet, get another local business to give you a link with recommendation. Then do it again.

      If you sell real estate, get links from mortgage brokers and home insurance agents.

      If you sell shoes, get links from women's clothing stores, boy clothing stores, men clothing stores, jewelers, etc.

    Have you used tools like https://www.whitespark.ca/local-citation-finder which will find all the citations pointed to your competitors? This is a strong indicator of how strong you are in your citation build compared to the competitor.

    With that said, this will also influence the just the local listing since you should not be using direct anchor text in your citation building with directories, etc.

    So build strong links using other methods i.e. PBN and you should rank in both areas

    well here are some factors... first is building citations, geo tagging youtube videos, KML map file, PBN also now a days popular. Socialadr and you can do other things also to boost... but these are keys..

    For Local SEO , It will be better to optimized the Landing pages for the region / city etc you want, NAP , topic association and titles and headings for the city/region. Then Local Business listings and getting reviews for the citations, get some links from the local sites with relevancy.

    You can also specify the region in the Google webmaster Tools and Google places can help you more, While the Social signals from the users from the same locality can perform better, Including Reviews and testimonials on the Page/website could add more value.

    We have a client who is an electrician. We have setup the Google Places listing with all the cities that they serve. We have also created landing pages for each city that they serve. How do we increase the ranking of the city landing pages when we don't have an address to put into directories for them?

      Google places will boost the business main web page if it is supported with citations that include a backlink (to some extent, depending on the competitiveness of the niche)

      Other local pages will be treated as any other web page, so improve each one of these pages with great unique content and then start building links to these pages. You could power those pages with PBN.

      I have in my arsenal approx' 50 sites as part of my PBN, so local businesses with multiple pages are ranking in the top #3 for keywords like 'electrician London' and 'electrician Manchester', etc.

      You don't have to use a PBN, but as these sites are already got high authority metrics they boost the ranking quickly and stick.

    a really great factor is to rank the Plus Page itself. You dont really need Citations to rank a GMB (Google Places). Just build some DA to your site etc. KML is great though too but not an absolute. Geo target as much as you can. Get the Node in of your area.

    Just a guess with no evidence behind it. I've always had a feeling having a local address + phone number on your site seems to help you rank better locally. It's almost like google detects the address and considers you a legit person in that locality. Correct me if I'm definitely wrong, I would like to know myself.

      He moved and forgot to update the non-important parts of his profile, man! Sheesh! Can't you see he's busy!

      I've noticed a certain percentage of the people here do one of the following:

      start threads asking for advice regarding SEO but they sell SEO services
      live in Asia but work in the United States

      are sure they've done all the SEO that could have been done on their site and can't understand why their site is not #1 and, when you suggest they have no clue about SEO, they get angry

      know the best SEO tactic but can't be bothered to explain why it's the best
      the SEO tactic/strategy proposed as best by most has never been good, let alone best, or was best a few years ago

      most of the advice given here is crap and includes:
      post more and more often

      500-word articles are best (no reason why 500)
      forum posting is awesome for SEO

      article marketing is awesome for SEO (and they mean article directory marketing)

      say nothing in many words.

    In order for you to rank in your area, you need to target keywords like keyword+city (house cleaning houston). When a user searches from the Houston area, this should also help you rank for house cleaning and house cleaning services. In addition, build links with well-written content and only from domains wiht high authority.

    think of local keywords for your business. For example instead of ranking for something globally and I was trying to rank for USA, I would get into the citie names.
    For example this would be global SEO for dog training
    keywords:
    dog training
    best dog training
    how to train your dog

    Local keywords
    dog training in nebraska
    dog training in los Angelas

    how to train your dog in nebraska
    how to train your dog in L.A.
    how to train your dog in Cincinati

    this is just one idea for targeting local keywords for your niche.
