In light of googles newest change to doorway pages, what do you do regularly for SEO?

Hi,

I work at an SEO firm, and also do some freelance SEO on the side. Previously we would start by audting a clients site, looking at the structure, h tags, meta tags etc. And then start to work on backlinking and creating content. The content creation part used to consist of repeatedly writing content for low ranking keywords, except with googles new algorithim change to penalize doorway pages, Google Plans Ranking Algorithm Change For Doorway Pages this totally breaks our content building strategies.

What do you guys do for daily, weekly, or just regular activity?

This is the only SEO firm I've worked at so I often wonder if I've only learned to do things one way.

*Edit: I should also say I haven't been doing this professionally for very long, and I was self-taught before that.

In light of google's newest change to doorway pages?!?!?!?!?!?!?

If you were doing any such thing, on any level, how on earth could you
    call yourself an SEO person....

In light of asking this question about doorway pages, what do you
    regularly do for SEO?

I have no idea why anyone taking money for "SEO" would be doing doorway
    pages.

    You people are scam artists.

      That's not really helpful.

I did mention that this is the only SEO company I've worked for, and that I fear that I've only learned things one way...And now I'm here looking for additional insight in how to be a better SEO practitioner.

If you don't know the difference between a content page, a product page,
and a doorway page, get the frick out of the business.

        That would be very helpful.

      Thanks for the insight Antonio.

This basically is what I've done until now, but can you give me an example? For example, if you're a dentist in New York, and you have keyword phrases ranging from New York Dentist, to New York Family Dentist, or New York Area Cosmetic Dentist and you have separate pages with focused content on these phrases, isn't this keyword stuffing?

Would you be able to give me an idea of what your regular activity would look like?

The way we do things (and again I'll conceded to the fact that I've only learned one way and I've only been doing this professionally for 4 months, and on my own for up to 2 years before that), all the initial keyword research and navigation changes would be made in the initial setup and on-boarding of clients, and part of the regular activity would be a monthly content piece, eventually we're going to run out of topics and areas where we can put pages that Google won't consider them a "Doorway" page.

Keyword stuffing is when you use keywords for the sake of using keyword. If you're just a little bit creative, you can pack quite a few keywords in a few hundred words.

Looking for a New York Dentist?
Then jump up with joy, for I am a New York Dentist. Not only that, but I'm a New York Family Dentist.

That means, I'm good with kids (so stop Googling New York Pediatric Dentistry) and with adults.

Some 40 (or 50) words in there and I got
        New York dentist 2 times
New York family dentist 1 time
New York Pediatric Dentistry 1 time
