Problems to get dofollow links from YouTube

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new here.

I'm an SEO rookie. I'm trying to get some dofollow link from my YouTube account to my blog.

I carefully followed the procedures outlined here: How to get dofollow backlink from YouTube | Mashinie however with no results.

Even though the blog URL is verified and the code I get is on place in the blog back-end, the YouTube links keep appearing as nofollow.

I have no clue of what the problem could be.

The blog runs on Tumblr.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The "associated website" option in YouTube has absolutely nothing to do with follow /no-follow backlinks. The purpose of creating an associated website in YouTube is to allow the owner of the channel to create a clickable link to his website from an annotation during the video. All links on YouTube are no-follow.

      Really?

You're saying there's nothing to do at all?

If so my manager was right saying it was not possible.
He also challenged me to find a YouTube dofollow link (and obviously I could not find any).

It also means there are several posts out there full of crappy wrong information.
In fact I found on other sites the same procedure described in Mashinie, procedure that, as far as I understand now, is totally useless in terms of link juice.

    Haha,
Youtube is nofollow and they offered us alink to share our website on the channel for the purpose of more information regarding those videos.

We all are having links on youtube channels to drive traffic not dofollow backlinks.

If the links weren't nofollow, YouTube would be doing it wrong. It's user generated content.

They're not willing to say "Yeah, this is a good page that we're intentionally linking", but "User wanted this here, and we've got no clue what's in there, so we're not gonna put our neck on the line".

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

YouTube links are nofollow, and you can't make them dofollow. You should use YouTube to build your brand by sharing useful videos so that your targeted like it and come to know about your business.
