Difference between Indexing and Crawling..??

Hey all i am a newbie in SEO and i just wanted to solve a doubt that always creeps up in my mind!! What is the difference between Indexing and Crawling..??

    Just because a site is crawled doesn't mean its indexed.

    Search engine bots will crawl your site/page regularly and index them if they meet their requirement. Same thing applies to your backlinks also.

    Google is a software known as a search engine bot also known as a Google Crawler. Google Crawler has the jobs to check your site and index it on google . if your website meet their requirement they will also index them.

    Crawling is vising a website by search engines and get information that includes Content, Description & keywords and indexing is making database of the information that has been collected by crawler.

    Indexing is the result of successful crawling. I consider a URL to be indexed (by Google) when an info: or cache: query produces a result, signifying the URL's presence in the Google index.
