What tool would you use to find canonical issues?

Hi there

I've got a project with a potential issue of bad canonical tagging and I would like to use any kind of automatic tool to set aside basic issues. Do you know any free ones?

    In order to automate canonical tag research you would have to know If another webpage is a higher priority than the current page. It's not just a single webpage issue.

    If you are just asking for a tool that can give you an overview of all URLs that uses canonical to point to another URL, you could look into the 30 days free trial of A1 Website Analyzer (no fixed limits on URLs) if you just need it for a quick job which it sounds like.

    However, If you need more and/fully free, please explain what precisely you had in mind - that way maybe someone here can better recommend a solution for you!
