Creating a website with a beautiful theme is so easy these days and getting excited with an amazing offer is easier than that. But the most excruciating fact that most website owners or newbie affiliate marketers have to deal with is how to get SEO content? While some try to write SEO articles and web contents on their own, others go for popular freelancing sites to hire an article writer for $1 per 500 words and the results are devastating. I know the result because I myself started my career as a freelance writer back in 2011 at $. 75 per 500 word rate.
Today I would like to share with you guys some facts that most successful bloggers and article marketers in this industry know but are not telling you.

1. Write for the scanners
While Google and most marketers will tell you that you need to have an authoritative voice while writing a blog post for your website, it is simply a myth. A reader giving full attention to every single element of your website articles is 1/10. Why? Because, as the web surfer already has another 9 results on his SERP to peek into, why should he/she spend more than 5 minutes on your article? Unless being into your site gives him/her a feeling of high trust.
So, don't jargon your blog post with hard-to-read or hard-to-understand words. Try to have a conversational tone while you explain that most difficult thing in the world. Unless, you are writing articles for an academic website. Follow the KISS theory and explain like your reader is five (yup, quote from reddit), and you will do way better than others.
Try to keep the sentences as short as possible. Don't write articles that is 2-3 line long. Sort them to paragraphs and if possible have blackouts within your blog post; it is more Scanable that way. You can check out Brian Dean's website which I find very easy to read and the way he uses blockquotes to point out important lines are simply awesome.

2. Have some evidence and reference
Inbound links are OK, but outbound ones? No way.
That's what I used to think and I am sure such thought has peeked into many newbie marketers' minds as well. While most of us are not so much interested to put links into our article unless it is an affiliate link or paid; doing so helps your blog post to become more trustworthy.
As you are explaining a subject matter to your readers, try to put 1-2 outbound links (depending on the size of your article) within the paragraphs. But only do it, if you have a relevant, authoritative website to link to. For example, when you are writing about SEO or CRO, having a link on your post pointing to a relevant whiteboard Friday session by Fishkin at Moz, will make your audience believe that you know what you are talking about. This is something that we have used a lot while ranking our agency website for the keyword boston seo

3. Don't sell
It is a fact that confuses most newbie writers. Yes, everyone hates to read/hear sells speeches, but you need to tell them to buy too. Here are some strategies that I and many other top marketers have followed to make their readers to buy more:
  1. If you really want to sell something, go for an in-depth review rather than writing a blog post that starts with a cheesy title. These things don't work anymore.
  2. Start your review post with a tone which makes your readers believe that you are going to tell them every little thing that they need to know before ordering the product.
  3. Tell them like you mean it. Many people try to reverse engineer the cons of a product, but that should not be something that you should do for each of the cons. There is always some obvious cons that is prevailing to the readers and mentioning them on your review will make you trustworthy on their mind. Find those out. That is one of the tricks that made me one of the best and highest paying amazon niche article writers on Elance, although I am not a native writer.

4. Using a call to action: the authentic way
Each and every review article you see out there are trying to sell you something. Especially the ones that use the words "SCAM" and "Beware" in the title. Funny, isn't it?
After spending 15-30 minutes to write a 1000 word article and not to ask the reader to take any action is just too silly. So, at the end of your review, do ask your reader to buy the product or add them to their cart (for amazon). I have learned this trick from a book called "Don't make me think". Although it is a world renowned book on User experience, but the stuff mentioned in that book is highly helpful for writers as well.
Another thing that you can do is what I called the "honest seller". This is what Pat Flynn does on his website and so do Spancer haws. At the end of each blog where they promote something, they clearly mention that there are affiliate links on that article which will help the website owner to earn money through affiliation. This is something that I have done for one of my amazon niche sites, and the result is impressive. Let's face it, most of the readers who visit your site from the SERP knows that you have built this site to promote the product and make money by selling that product to others. So, why not tell the truth? Sometime honesty works way better than chip shots.

Did you find this article helpful? Let me know
You don't need to be a native individual to write articles for your website. All you need to have is passion and knowledge about how things work online and how readers interact with your content and that would be just fine. Worked for me.
And if you still think that all the contents in today's World Wide Web are written by experts and people with high specialties, visit top marketplaces as a freelance article writer and you will understand.
If you would love to add some more things to this article, comment in this thread. I would love to learn some more stuff from you. And I do take each and every feedback as a way for me to improve myself as a writer and an affiliate marketer.
