How to use anchor links in bios of guest posts for SEO

I have a blog and heard about an interesting tactic: When you write guest posts for other blogs, you will want to use your bio below your guest post to link to your blog. Use your most important keywords as anchor links, that will allegedly help you for SEO.

I have seen a video that praises this tactic, but the video is almost five years old.

Will this still work?

What is your opinion about this tactic?

Thanks!

True, if you are going to post a few gust posts at all else otherwise try to diversify the anchor text.

Sorry but this tactic does not work anymore. As soon as people started doing this as a link building tactic en-mass Google stated to issue penalties. I received a penalty 6 months ago for using this tactic on one of my sites.

Saying that I think that qualified outreach still has a place so long as the content is valuable to the audience, keyword rich anchors are avoided and the links gained are in moderation to the rest of the link profile.
