Is article submission good and valuable?.Because I have heard that article submission will negatively affect site.

    Article submissions are good for the website unless and until it contains quality and unique content. Also, the websites on which it is posted should have higher PA and DA. If the content is duplicated from another website and it is posted on low quality article submission websites, only, then it can harm your website.

    So exactly half of the commenters don't know what "article submission" even means. Typical.

    Depends on your target site. Is it a pile of artificially generated garbage, or a site that may help someone? If you're submitting low-quality content to low-quality sites it's quite likely that the results will not be good.

    Article submission to free directories are a waste of time.

    No, they're not "good and valuable." It won't harm your site unless it's the only thing you're doing and you're abusing anchor text. It will most likely just not have any effect on your rankings.

    Article submission means to "submit your article" to a site the will accept articles. That terms is usually linked to websites such as http://ezinearticles.com/, the whole point of article submission is to publish your article on a site which supposedly has traffic, where users will read your article and then click your link the the bio box.

    Are article sites still popular? Not sure, most have died down but if you can still get link clicks then do it otherwise you're wasting your time. BTW, not bad if done correctly. The site would have to be really bad to affect your site.

    Normally people use spin articles or copy from any well reputed sites & insert the link in article and start publishing which definitely harmful for site.
    Google likes content but the only original once so use only quality content its will reflect the positive effect.
    If you use the original content in Guest Posting with good Authority sites then it will more pretty good.

      That doesn't matter. Do you really think that all the n+1 copies about the exact same news item are somehow getting penalized? It's possible that the best site wins, though.

      Except that "unique" and "quality" content fails all the time as you can see from threads on this forum. People throw those words around without any consideration. Especially unique has lost all the meaning in these circles.

      If there's any real competition Google search is basically a popularity contest. And it's possible to rank without any real content.

      Article submission only works if you don't submit your text to a steaming pile.
