Hi

I wonder if when you submit to a directory if the PR of the homepage makes a difference because the page your link is on is nearly always NA or 0.

I hope that makes sense.
Thanks in advanced

Interesting question and one that I do not have a definitive answer for, but my gut feeling is that links from sub pages of sites with a high Google Page Rank are better than those of unranked or PR0 sites, even if the pages with the links have PR0. Just a feeling that I have after a few years getting links for myself and other people.

It depends on the number of internal links on the homepage and the depth of the inner page that your link gets on. Every page that is linked from the homepage gets a fraction of the PR of the homepage. The homepage usually links to the top level category pages and if your link gets in there then great but most of the time you link goes to a subcategory page which is linked from the category page. The subcategory page gets a fraction of the PR that the category page got. So your link goes on a subcategory page then it's on a page that gets a fraction of a fraction of the PR of the homepage. But if it's deeper, then it gets a fraction of that fraction, etc. In the end it become minuscule. Then you still need to compete with the other outbound links on the page with your link. So in the end it doesn't really matter if it's PR0 or PR6, as long as it's a linkback.
