web 2.0 link value for anchor text link building

Can anyone tell me, links from web 2.0 websites for keyword ranking is beneficial? Suppose i want to rank a keyword. If i built link from taposh.tumblr.com subpages is this help me...

    The benefit is minimal. It is a brand new page with no authority.

    A link from taposh.tumblr.com only wouldn't have much impact at all.

    However sending a bunch of links to the web 2.0 taposh.tumblr.com first as tier 2 would make it more powerful.

    If it's a brand new page, yes, but little.

    If it's a page that's been around a while and/or has backlinks, more than a little.

    Hint: if you're going to use web 2.0 pages to get links from, create some now, get a few links to them over the next few months, they'll be ripe for use in a while....

    And, don't create crap, create stuff people want to link to, so as to save yourself the trouble of getting links... I'm assuming you're already doing that to your main site(s).

    Of course, if you're going to create quality pages, why not create them on your own sites?

    Hint: create your own tier 2 and tier 3 sites.

    (Or buy some that already have pages with power.)

    Web 2.0 sites are fine. Like squidoo, huppages, ezinearticles, weebly, tumblr, medium. Yes, you can have some strong links to your website with Tumblr, as well as promote your content and build your brand online.

      You seem to have two categories of "web 2.0 sites" here. Some of them are a collection of articles or pages, some have you set up an individual site for your own content. The first ones probably don't link to your content in any authority page unless it's top notch and notable in some way, and the latter just plain don't link to your content at all.

      These are "fine" in the sense that they don't hurt you, but you don't automatically achieve a page that has any authority.

      Setting up a site anywhere else is about as good as using these services.

    It all depends on how you build the Web 2.0 site. f you just sign, add 1 post and link to your main site it won't help much at all.

    However, if you take some time to create a proper Web 2.0 property with 5-7 pages of content and push some backlinks to it. Then the property become much more powerful compared to a one-page wonder.

    But web2.0 links are not effective as they used to be.

    You have to make your web2.0 become authority site first.

      How? Where's the exact link that passes the juice?

      Those "web 2.0" services are not linking to individual blogs or pages unless they've got a very good reason to do so, and even then it would be only for a moment.

      It's just mind-boggling that people choose to go with blind belief, wishful thinking, and this "authority by association" game. Can't see how it works? Doesn't matter, it's magic!

    Although web2.0 itself have very high authority but your created new page has no authority. Not help much from that i tried in the past.
