When a bot or actual human visits a forum, a blog, or a chat room and automatically posts self-promotional links to the spammers websites. There is generally no content value in the comment itself, just a simple link.

Sort of like OP? I think your describing forum spam.

Guest blog articles/links are most likely going to be approved by a webmaster & probably a paid link for folks targeting sites that advertise guest post/articles.

    From Wikipedia:
"Guest blog spam is the process of placing guest blogs on websites for the sole purpose of gaining a link to another website, or websites. Unfortunately often confused with legitimate forms of guest blogging with other motives than placing links. Made famous by Matt Cutts publicly declaring "war" against this method of link spam"

There ya go, hope it helps! If not, Google it some more

Gotta love it. Someone with cloaked links in the sig is asking about spam.
    Signature
Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?
