Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

I really think so. How can someone trust you if you gave them an irresolute impression.

  • I guess it would depend on the psycho-graphics of the audience and the market you're approaching.

If you created a site named

Why The F^^^ Do People Do That .Com
    - it could be a gag site or something and it's definitely something people would remember.

What are you planning on using?

My gut (common sense) reaction is yes it will. Google is not fond of curse-worded domains. But maybe you're an exeption. To determine that You'll have to give us a lot more information than you offered. You gave us a drive-by question with zero background or back story.

Who is your market, (do they talk like that). What's your product or service?
Does your competitors have curse words in their domain? Is it customary to have curse worded domains in your market? Are those curse worded domains successful?

It depends how you use the words. :’)
If your topic is all about it, why not? There are different uses of words and it depends on how you deliver it, “relevant words are a good help”.

i don't think having a curse word in your domain will hurt your rankings for whatever keyword/keywords you are trying to rank for. google gives little push for keywords in a domain name so it really all boils down to the content and context on your web pages and if it's socially acceptable. to get some indication you can type in the bad keywords in google search and see if people are able to bid or are bidding on those keywords.

Google doesn't care about EMDs as much as they did before, if that's what you're worried about. You'll need good content to rank, nothing more, nothing less.

But, other than that, are you sure having a curse word in your domain name wouldn't affect your reputation? You are not just building a website for the search engines you know.

You must think of your visitors as well. Would they be offended by the curse word, or would they find it unique/interesting? Decide based on that.

You may have a possible penalty if your site is ever manually reviewed but I don't believe an algorithm can penalize you. If that was the case, a site like doubleshitter.com (selling baseball equipment) would automatically get a penalty.
