Permalinks in term of SEO

Hi Warriors,
I just created a new website and I would like to know which is proper to use the permalinks.
The website is more like a blog/news that have many categories.
I use wordpress and I setup the permalinks to:
domain.com/%category%/%postname%
==> it will show up like this in the permalinks: (for example)
domain.com/car/new-bmw-car-2015
Is this okay to begin with? Am I get any trouble later on?
Or should I go with:
domain.com/%postname%/ - (usually people go with this option)
==> it will show up like this:
domain.com/new-bmw-car-2015 (just an example)
If you can provide pros and cons for the either both of the options, I would be so happy.
