I have a website, Caribbean Food | Caribbean Recipes | Caribbean Cuisine Caribbean Food | Caribbean Recipes | Caribbean Cuisine
The website is up since 5 weeks ago, all a 100% unique content, all written by excellent writers, HD images. However, the site is almost getting ZERO organic traffic. However, whenever someone visits the site, there is almost ZERO bounce rate, people like what they see!
On Social, we are doing fine with Facebook Ads, as well as a little bing ads to test the appeal of the website to audience, both are liking the site, with average 3 page views per visitors and less than 10% bounce rate!

Our offline SEO is still very minimal if not zero. Google is indexing pages but very slowly. Google webmasters tools are handled fine by our developers. I need to know how could we improve here? We are not into spammy linking like things on fiverr and stuff like this, we are only interested in making an authority site!

Our monetization is almost ZERO as well at the moment, we want to create a NAME that goes viral, then we really start thinking money.

I want opinions, tips and advices whenever possible. Thanks a lot in advance.

You need to determine keywords you want to rank for.

When I look for recipes, I don't only search using Jamaican Jerk Chicken Recipe

type of keywords, they also look for things like
    chicken mushroom recipes
    chicken mushroom potato stews
    chicken rice safron soup

You need to have pages that talk to them.

    And you need onpage optimization.

Your homepage has a long list of recipes and no other content, improper keyword optimization. Your descriptions (twitter and the others) weren't written by English speakers... or they didn't pay attention in school. Caribbean is always capitalized. Also, they're exactly the same thing several times.

Your home page could be better organized: Caribbean Soups, Caribbean Stews, Caribbean Deserts. Each could have a short description that would make visitors interested in checking out the recipes and give you the opportunity of using more keywords.

Notice: 'Caribbean soups' will help you with 'Caribbean recipes' and so on.

Nice looking site, the homepage loads rather slowly (all those images?).

Want to Know Why Sushi should be in Your Diet?

That's one of your posts. Should Be not should be.

    You're optimizing for nothing.

    Im not optimizing for nothing
I thank you for the comments. I think I willl focus more on Facebook and Pinterest, Twitter will be rather a third channel with limited efforts!

Also, our on page SEO is not bad, and we haev unique content based on keyword research done! My main question is still around the incoming organic traffic being really low, whats the reason for this and how can we expedite this?

    Thanks again in advance

Pages do not rank on content alone. It looks like there has been pretty much no link building done. Incoming links from external websites is the #1 factor in ranking.

That is the biggest thing holding you back.

But honestly, with a site like this, I would probably mostly just stick to social promotion. Facebook and Pinterest should be your primary areas for traffic. SEO will be tough in this niche.

Because there are a ton of recipe sites out there already, and some very big ones that you are up against.

I was in the recipe niche once (years ago), it's very competitive on the SERPs (SEO).

Unless your selling your own product (ex: recipe book) I wouldn't even waste my time.

People on Pinterest will love this, even though it is a popular niche. Build up relationships with those huge boards, takes time, but its worth it.
      Good luck.

Actually, we are planning to make our own recipes ebook once we reach a 150 recipes. This should be a comprehensive book that will be sold to subscribers.

There are less competitive niches, but we wanted to develop this great domain name. We believe we have the potential to easily sell it for 40-50K after spending less than 10K. Donnow might turn out to be wrong, I hope not We will do our best !

If you want Organic Traffic, consider following:
    1) SEO - You already have quality content. Go to Google planner to find most searched keywords related to your topic (3-4 keywords are enough). Then about 10 LSI (Latent semantic indexing keywords) keywords. Put the main keyword in headline, in first line (preferably in bold).
    2) Use social media, use forums (reply to question related to your topic).
    3) Backlinks. Fiverr is a good platform to find people just for 5$

Yes methods tweeks and advice. I have tons of them! I have been a Warrior for 20 years not saying to much but implementing what I have learned.

For me proper mind set is everything. I spend 50% of my time working on me. Working on what you are thinking. You thoughts are what creates success . Before I do anything online I prepare my mind. I want to attack the issue with passion with imagination. Like Bruce Lee, he stretched a bit before he kicked someones butt.

Heres a few things I have noticed about my websites.

As soon as any of my sites get social shares likes etc they pop. They climb on google.

Youtube videos uploaded to other video sites. As soon as I created a youtube video for my daughters trolls, like 6 people saw the video but it created more traffic to her store. She sold all her trolls and most of the items in the store.

Call it what ever you want. But I know that you cant depend on google for your pay check. Their are plenty of other ways to get web traffic that is free and targeted.

What are you doing to motivate your readers to spread the word?

There's thousands of sites exactly like yours.

They might stop on your page, even read for 20 minutes, but they have no attachment or devotion to your site, and what you're not considering is the fact they leave your site, and visit 20 others - you're just an information source to them.

What are you doing to build relationships and community, or to embed your name in your customers' minds?

Basically, what are you offering that they can't find anywhere else, and what is your mission as a business that others will get behind?

For example, the Wright Brothers had a vision to create powered flight, Martin Luther King Jr. had a vision of equality all over the world, Apple has a vision of bringing easy-to-use products that innovate and push their entire industry forward.

Why would people want to get behind, support your business, and share your message with others?

We want to deliver the best recipes's experience for all women. Thats our mission statement.
We are asking them on FB about the recipes they wanna see next, but we're still in early stages, only 4 weeks live, and a few hundred fan pages on fb. We are increasing our fan base day over day. Ultimately within 2 months, we will have 5K Genuine US fans at least. Thats when monetization will be easier and more feasible. We're building a list, do you think that a pop up to sign up is the best Converting for signups or is there something better?

I appreciate all the feedbacks so far. Really helped me think it over and over.

I didn't realize that SEO involves a semi-professional film rig, charisma and television presence, a lot of preparation time in the kitchen, a lot of time editing the videos, etc.

Do you really think that this is a sensible suggestion?

The "free to view" channels in my home country have a ton of these programs, even a British bread porn series! That's what you're competing against. YouTube content doesn't need to be broadcast quality, but "dude speaks about pasta in front of his computer" probably doesn't cut it.

I am ROTFLMAO after reading that line. Who, what, and where, are your so-called
    developers? A coconut tree hut?

Perhaps a little discussion with your developers would be a better place to start....

If not, then what kind of clowns do you think we are? You act as if you have just
tons of people working for you.....yet come here for how to to get organic traffic?!?!

Let's see...you are also doing fine with FB ads, Bing, etc.....

But claim you are making zero money?

Fire your developers. Fire everyone who is working for this project.

Now go and do some real research. Find out about audience, market, SEO,
    and more....

Oh and a claim to not spam? Then why spam a forum...

    Start over. The right way.

You hired a team of writers and developers....and failed.

What does that say about you?

And oh by the way....there's a ton of men cooking.

Not to mention that there are tons of recipe sites online.

    Do we need yet another?

It's called "homework." Something severely lacking here.

If real people would stand up, I would not always be the bad guy.

    I appreciate the feedback.

Let me just clarify, I didnt mean that I am outsourcing development and nothing else is taken care of!
I did a big mistake, which is not clearly having a proper strategy before starting. Not a great thing to have, but nothing is not fixable. At least I admit there is a mistake, thats where we start
We are pausing now some of the activities and taking a few steps back to correct a lot of existing mistakes

What doesnt break you, makes you stronger!

Thanks again everyone for all the suggestions and tips. Highly appreciated

Italians and Japanese travelers do go the the Caribbean and, when they do, they want to feel like they're back home in Italy or Japan.

Plus, some people feel like Caribbean but if you put a risotto in front of them, they'll change their mind.

Plus, the OP wants a bigger slice of the recipe directory pie. Like he said, they are a Caribbean recipe site that's about more than Caribbean recipes... Sure way to dilute power.

Your problem is not simply SEO it is a whole cloth marketing deficit that you have on your hands.

Unique Selling point as well as value added needs to be highlighted for potential users.

If that is done then guiding traffic into your funnel becomes easier as they are more likely to convert when they get exposed to your content.

So design with an end user in mind, tell people about your awesome stuff, gain backlinks/recognition among your target audience, more traffic = more signals to rank and more backlinks, more users to optimize around....

    So forth and so on.
