Article Marketing, Backlinking and Duplicate Content Question

Hi warriors, I am trying to do some article marketing after buying and reading a great WSO by Dean Shainin But I have got some questions.

1. I have read here on the warrior forum that google does "filter" articles. That's they will only rank one article if there are 2 or more of the same articles. Is this true or a myth?

2. If Number one is true, what happens to the links in the other articles? Will links in the articles be counted towards my site?

3A. If I am to build backlinks to my articles that are submitted on directories such as Ezinearticles( already doing these), how many backlinks per day is enough?

3B. How many backlinks is good for my new blog per day?

Thanks in advance.

This is why people that do not know what they talk about should not give advice....

Google does not filter nothing, there are many of us that dominate google's front page all with the same "exact" article.. This is a myth and bad advice that some wannabee spreads around to make it look like they are an "expert"..

Build as many backlinks a day as you can, if that is 400, 500, or more, then do it... Do not listen to that bad advice about "Well, you better only build 20 backlinks a day otherwise google will slap you" .. This is a FASLE - MISLEADING - DOWNRIGHT LIE!!!

The fact is google or no other search engine can be everyplace 24/7 and besides that getting 400 or 500 backlinks in a day is very natural.

Answer to 3B see above ....

I my opinion, no amount of backlink is enough, if you have the resources like time, software or people to do it for you (outsource), continue to build backlinks as long as you live.

This thread may have some answers to your 1st question: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...eza-first.html

    This is false.

Number one is not true, and pretty much no matter what, the links will be counted towards your article. Even PR 0 backlinks "count" as backlinks in most search engines. The may not count for much, but they count.

For the last two questions, the answer is the same: as many as possible per day, until you have enough. Enough is however many it takes to get the ranking you want. Typically that means "more than the guy with the rank you want".

Since you're talking about a blog, rather than thinking about "how many backlinks" you need, think about "how do I get people to link to me". Those efforts are more likely to grow on their own, whereas hunting backlinks is a constant struggle.

Where did you get this information?

    I have One article on:

    My website
    Articledashboard.com
    Articlealley.com
    ezinearticles.com
    Hubpages.com

And they are all ranking on the first page of google for the same keywords.

3A. regarding this question how many backlinks per day is enough the answer is as less as possible.

You can use duplicate content and get ranked number 1 if your article is SEO'd better than the other duplicates -- it has more incoming links with the right anchor text mix, etc. Sites like ezinearticles are mostly made up of duplicate content, yet their pages with dupe content come up in the top 10 for competitive keywords.

Google does count links coming from duplicate articles it has filtered out in search results. That's why link building by submitting the same article to multiple sites works well even today.

    Thanks!

I can't tell if this is just some heinous misinformation (because it CAN'T be based on testing) or if it's some kind of awesome trolling not seen since the Billy Goats Gruff.

And everything Mike here says is church truth. At least, this has been my exact experience in testing.

No Offense but this is the "bad advice" that I was speaking of... Not only is this bad advice but it could very well cost someone a great a deal of money and cost someone their actual business by listening to such rubbish.

Google does not filter anything, again many of us dominate the front page of google with the same exact article.

Well here it goes again. And I'll say the same thing that I said before. That reply is absolute nonsense.

Right now in 4 of my niches, I have almost the entire front page of google monopolized between my site, my squidoo lenses, hub pages, followed by my articles. In 1 case there are 6 articles (that are exactly the same), on different article directories. So my site is at position 1 in my niche, my hub page is #3, and from 4 to 11 are my articles. Right now I am battling for #2, which is Amazon.

Google DOES NOT filter articles. Simply not true.

I agree, Google DOES NOT Filter duplicate articles.

But I think that the reason why a lot of people THINK that google does filter them is that they submit the same article to many places, but never bother to get any links to any of them, therefore most of the articles sink to the bottom.

Thanks warriors. I guess the best way to find out for sure is to test. I some articles on ezinearticles that are already page one, I guess I will try submitting the articles to goarticles and build backlinks to them using Angela, Paul and James' WSOs and see what happens.

I will post my result here.

The best way to do article marketing is to incorporate article spinning concept into your strategy.. It will reduce the duplicate content factor and hence more number of backlinks..

      domaintrader, read this...

..and please stop asserting that ridiculous duplicate content "myth" as if it is fact. I don't mean to be rude, really I don't. But you really should read that thread I just posted and take in the wealth of informational FACTS that exist, regarding this non-issue. It will save you a lot of time and it will dispell your incorrect assumptions regarding duplicate content.

Thing is, plenty of us around here - who have been article marketing and SEO for years - are tired of seeing this bad advice floating around the forum confusing newbs and causing unnecessary work for people.
