I've just created a Wordpress automotive blog. It has some original content categorized by vehicles we sell like Toyota Hilux, Toyota Land Cruiser, etc. Now I would like to get relevant news for some 100 models of various brand cars imported into relevant categories in an automated or semi-automated way. How would I go about doing this?

There are online tools like Zapier (www.zapier.com) or IFTTT (www.ifttt.com).

You can choose the blogs you want to get the information from and with these tools make it automatically update your website.

With these tools you don't need an additional plugin. You just need to configure from where you want to get the information and which WordPress website you want to update.

Most blogs have a RSS feed. You can take their posts from it. Try to give credit to the sites you are taking the information from.

Be careful with autoblog content on domains you care about, you could mess up the domain if you get slapped with a Google penalty.

My advice is never autoblog on an important domain, when autoblogging assume within 2 years the domain will be penalized by Google and original content will no longer rank particularly well.

Thanks Dave. My purpose is to do it semi-automatically where the content is picked automatically based on search terms and then queue it and then I can selectively pick or nix news based on relevance. Would that still cause a problem?

If you have a very small number of copied content you'll probably be OK, but even a few articles a week will add up overtime. The more copied content you add more of a risk you take, I wouldn't put any copied content on an important domain, be risk averse on important domains (it's your livelihood right).

I've tested autoblogging/copying content for almost a decade and I'd only add copied content to a domain I don't mind loosing long term. I estimate I've had dozens of domains penalized doing the tests, a few have managed to avoid penalties, but there's no pattern to how to avoid the downgrades.
