Point domains and make a new site or not?

I work in one specific niche and have about 5 good content rich sites of varying ages in this niche. I always did alright with them but for the last year-18months (while I have been caught up with off line stuff) the traffic to the sites has dropped off.

I'm not sure if I should work on all the sites to try to improve them as is, or buy a new domain, build a new site and point all aged domains to it?

Any advice appreciated on pros and cons of either approach.

Thanks

Improving may take lots of time. Better to start with a new domain and redirecting old to new one.

Was asked this question by my boss this morning. Told him new domain and 301 the old one. In all honesty the site sucked and it was better to start from the ground up in this scenario.

I'd have to agree with the others. Updating all of your current sites might take allot of time. If you're wanting to put in less time then either start a new one and permanently redirect the old ones to it, or pick one of your current ones and focus on it, while permanently redirecting the others to it.

Revamping and updating just one of your current sites may actually be quicker than starting something new.

Work on old domain...because Google better rank an old domain.
Secondly, focus on one site instead of many.

I think old is gold. So try to build your old sites again.
