My Blog, how does it look? What does it need?

Hello, I am new to the forum. Glad to be here, hope I can learn a lot and maybe share some knowledge.

What I would like to ask is: What does my blog need? Booneway
More specifically:
  1. What security do I need?
  2. How well are my posts structured
  3. Anything else I should add?
  4. How does it overall look?
I would greatly appreciate the help.

One more thing, what is a good way to get traffic? When you start with zero contacts.

Thanks!

"First" is a very clean and pleasant theme. Nothing to complain about that.

Maybe I'm not in the target group, but didn't like your writing style or the content. You tend to instantly repeat what you said in the previous paragraph. Those few articles I browsed through went through something fairly obvious and mundane. But as I said I may not be the right audience.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

The site looks clean. Very basic, which is nice. I'd have to say that the content is rather boring and simplistic. Are you planning to monetize it, and if so, how?

I find the content to be bit dull!!! You can work on that.

Not really SEO related per se but I'm a stickler for details.

    3. Anything else I should add?
Add a favicon.ico to the tabs/pages. I just hate seeing sites with that default blank page icon. It makes me think of one thing: lazy.

Is this a personal blog? If so, I think it looks and reads just fine. A business blog would need a lot more design work.

If you are a blogger and want your post to get most of the likes of people then you should make it highly informative so that people can get some knowledge from it while they read it.

The best way to get more traffic on your blog is by making it highly responsive and eye catching and even by posting Adds on it you can get more traffic towards your blog.

I like the general look of your blog.
There could be much more detailed information for example in the Make Money Selling Junk post you could go into much more detail about how to list on Ebay. Explain how to create a good listing, the importance of maintaining an excellent seller rating, etc. Give some information that Ebay newbies may not know. Then you could monetize by offering an Ebay information product. Eg Get All the Top insider Tips and Tricks for a great Ebay Income. Click Here (when they click on your affiliate link they go to a sales page for a $27 Ebay marketing course, for exmple).

The text above your email opt in form should tell people what they will get if they submit their email. As it is now it's not clear. You have' Enter your email address to subscribe and follow me in this journey to be Financially Free!' What does that really mean? Exactly what will they get in their inbox? Are you going to send them a newsletter or a free gift or what?

I hope their's some value in these comments.

First congratulations on making a start at something.

If you don't know how to do it yourself, install the Wordfence security plugin, make that your first job asap.

You site is as slow as hell to load it scores just 41/49 with GPST, that speed will undoubtedly cost you visitors

My first job would be to ditch that theme and replace it with a faster, responsive one
... and lose that bloody awful Jetpack plugin
If you must use social icons use a floating version that is properly coded with sprited images.
    Optimize (compress) all your images
Reduce the header image width by 50%
Get your categories in the top navbar
Move the about/contact pages menu to the footer of the home page only

Improve the copy on the sign up form, it is totally underwhelming and uninspiring

There is so much more you can do to improve your site, if you continue posting in this thread you will get more suggestions.

Thank you all for the help. I will admit all of this is new to me, and quite overwhelming. But I am still going to try. I now know it needs a lot of work and hopefully I can fix it. I might be asking a few things on here time to time. So thank you for your response.

One other thing I have been thinking about that I wanted y'all's opinion on. Should I hire someone from Fiverr to optimize my SEO? I have 0 knowledge in it. Or do you think it would be something I could learn?

      Thanks a lot!

Noooo! That's like asking a fox to look after your chickens

Ask questions here if you have them, and use the search function to read through some older threads, you will find almost everything you need to bring your site up to scratch.

Above all else start researching how to get (good) backlinks from other sites.
