Paid Crowd Search to Increase Ranking

Lots of talks going on these days regarding the use of managed crowd search to inflate rankings. Crowd search means you pay real people to search google for your keywords for which you are ranking may be in 2nd,3rd or 4th page etc and then visit your site and spend time making it look natural to google.

Seo guru claim that one of the key factor in google algo is the ctr (click through rate). How many people are visiting a particular site from serps. If you are getting higher ctr than the site above you then google may place you above.

Have you guys tried this.

I have personally seen improvement in ranking of pages through increased CTR but this was via visitors sent from my Twitter accounts. On that basis there must be a similarity and proof of algo.

As far as I know this is a manipulation method that at least used to work. I know some guys who did this not too long ago, but according to them some changes made this much less efficient.

Haven't tried it myself, and I too would be interested to hear what other users think. Of course manipulation like this is strictly against Google's TOS, and Warrior Forum might not be the best place to have black hat discussions...

If your visitors don't come from search Google can't track them. If you're getting good traction on Twitter there's probably correlation between that and your increased rankings.

They can track them via Google Analytics, which I'm sure factors into ranking, even if they claim it does not.

Sounds like a lot of effort considering that what you're talking about is a tiny fraction of Google's ranking algorithm.

Don't you think that this process is time consuming? How will you benefit from this process? You will get only visitors and maybe some improvement in keyword rankings but no conversions.

Of course it's time consuming, and that's why something like this is outsourced to 3rd world countries. The theory was that Google tracks those clicks from "real users", and adjusts the rankings. That's a benefit, isn't it?

Please note that I'm not saying that this "method" does anything.

What do you mean by 3rd world countries. I though it's just 1 world.

You make it sound like some grand discovery that everyone should use. It's not that new, and this kind of direct manipulation is certainly "black hat". It's not suitable of every client in my opinion.

Technically they could, but they don't use the data that way. But this thing has nothing to do with Analytics.
