Pingdom vs Google

So, I have found something to be really confusing to me as I seek to get my site rating up. Why is it that my site performs well on the Pingdom speedtest and receives a good rating there but doesn't do the same with Google? What can I do to change this? How can I make it so that my site does just as good with Google as it does with Pingdom? This is really frustrating me and I could use any help or knowledge that you all have to share. Please give me some tips.

    Well, did you follow the advice that Google's test gave you? It's usually fairly easy to follow.

    Comparing the two tests makes no sense. They're probably looking for different things, and Google's scores are much lower across the board. Pingdom is much easier to please.
