Need insight from a SEO Master.

Greetings,

I need a SEO Master to give me some insight on how a particular niche site is ranking so high in google (always 1st page, and many times 1st position on a variety of semi competitive keywords) This is a site that I'm competing with for top ranking in Google. I have nothing negative to say about the site. It's a fine site. However, I have studied and studied this site as well as the site's backlinks and I do not understand where its ranking power is coming from. I'd like to send the URL of the site in a private message if that is ok. Thanks in advance.

    I am not an SEO expert but what you need is a keyword that is not very competitive, find that and start using it for getting backlinks to your website through blogs, bookmarkings and guest submissions. also, use them in meta tags and meta description of your website.

    Hopefully a SEO expert will help out on this!

    I'm not an expert but I may see something you can't.

    How old is their site? There may be other things at play than link profiles -- namely age and onsite metrics.

    I am no expert...but.

    How many pages do they have vs how many you have? Do they have a better seo site structure? What do their link anchors say? Their directory names? Alt tags? So many factors besides backlinks... how is their bounce rate?

    Must have unique and good content, long tail keyword, guest posting regularly, bookmark your site, good backlink and so on.

      Not unique content. No guest posting at all and backlinks are few.

    There are a lot of factors to be considered if you want to rank high/top of SERP (not just on backlinks).
    Onpage optimization would be the first, and then there goes backlinks, engagement, reputation etc.
