I just installed a wordpress blog into a subdomain of my existing site, which is another wordpress blog.

Are the traffic statistics (for google analytics) going to the subdomain blog counting towards my main domain's blog?

Hope I am clarifying... lol

I believe if you put a different analytics number (or id or whatever they call it) on the second blog, then the stats will be tracked seperately.

So, in your analytics account, create another account from the pull down meny and then use that for the new blog.

I have a wp blog on a subdomain, and as Lee states above, I have different tracking ID's and so different stats.

Not too sure if this is what you mean, or whether you are wanting to know if the visitors to your subdomain, also count as visitors to your main site? Again, I'm like you and not too sure if I'm making this clear?

If that is what you mean, then the short answer is 'I have no idea', but I'm sure someone else will.

It depends on how you set your GA Code up. If you have a separate GA code on your blog (using a different account number) then you will have two accounts in GA i.e.

      1) GA account tracking your main site
      2) GA account tracking your blog

If people visit your main site from your blog, they will appear as referral traffic and vice versa.

This is unless you have set your blog up as a sub domain i.e. blog.example.com and have set the domain name in your GA code i.e. setDomainName("example.com").

It depends on how you want to set it up. I would count the blog and main site as the same domain but create a separate profile using a filter to separate traffic to your blog. You will probably encounter a lot of different traffic stats with a blog i.e. bounce rate will be higher, so you dont want this skewing your overall figures ...
