Hi,

If you had 2 days a week to focus completely on online marketing, especially on SEO, Analytics (company is small, online marketing importance is in awareness but not super active in it),

how would you spend those 16 hours to be as effective as possible?

What is the important stuff you would focus on (getting things done)?
What would you leave behind / not focus on?

    to do lists!!

Break every task up into manageable bites and trawl through it...

    I work 50 minute hours... every 50 minutes I have a 10 minute break :-)

It's more about what on the to-do list rather then how

Danny, do you use any specific timer for that?

I started following the Pomodoro Method but found 25 minute blocks to be too short, so I'm now doing the 50-10.

For me, if I had 2 days a week to focus completely on internet and online marketing, I would focus on the following:

    - Building loyal subscribers to my newsletter
    - Giving valuable information and tips to help our fellow Warriors and internet marketers worldwide
    - Monetizing, promoting and ranking niche landing pages
    - Read motivational book for 30 minutes a day

I would leave behind playing favorite online and offline games on my computer, malling and window shopping, watching basketball games and movies and so on. After all, they're not contributing to improve my life as a person and for my family.

It's my goal to turn my life around, and I believe that the struggles I have is just part of the process, and I have to be persistent and maintain focused on my daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals. Cheers!

Why 16 hours? A day alone has 24, you can't limit your time spent online trying to grow your website / business if you want to succeed!

Ofcourse In the evening i want to focus on SEO, analytics etc but my question now is primarly what would make effectively sense to get involved in at the office.

I am new to do, but they did give me the responsibility to manage it. Not new to project management, am fairly new to SEO, analytics etc

I'd say you need to stop worrying about what should you focus on next and just let your instincts guide you! It's quite useless to have a plan like 'I will do SEO work from 9 to 12:30, eat lunch, and at 1 o'clock I start focusing on Analytics'. That's not gonna work. You say your're new, well then start anywhere! Start doing and ideas will come to you, eventually you will know what you need to do next.

In my opinion, one cannot limit his/her time in order to grow his/her website or to succeed his/her business. You can also work on flexible timings.

Setting time limits for SEO isn't practical, one problem/issue could easily take a day or two to correct. About the best you can do is set long term goals.

The good thing about Google SERPs is, it will always be there tomorrow.

      Haha Thats true

Thusfar I have been changing some titles and such.

I looked at the most succesful page and pretty much took that structure and applied it to all other pages.

I have done some Analytics.. But to be fair, I don't have a strategy where to look for regards to Analytics.

I ordered "Google Analytics, one hour a day". I hope to get some structure out of that book.

If I am asking this question, then I would probably be spending those 16 hours learning about SEO. Once you understand what has to be done and what is going to rank pages versus what is just white noise (like social signals, word counts, meta descriptions, etc), you will know where to focus your time.

Agreed. I am learning a ton. I am learning from the SEO / SEA course at Udemy. And have some more online courses on the schedule.

But most of this learning I do in my own hours. I think most managers are still in the activity = productivity mindset.

Something I would probably do differently if I had my own company

Leave behind anything you can automate/outsource. Focus on the bigger things that must be done with vision.

Control the strategy, hire out the tactics.
