Hi,

I run a web design and development agency and know a decent amount about SEO, but I do not have the time or staff to do SOE myself. I want to use a service like Hubshout.com to white label SEO packages, but what are my other options?

I know of a couple: AgencyPlatform.com (by eBrandz) and Hubshout.com

Are there any others? AgencyPlatform is more affordable than Hubshout, but is it as good?

Any advice is appreciated

Honestly, I would not recommend either if you're a hands-on type of agency, because then you're at the mercy of waiting on support tickets to find out what's happening with your client. Now, I know firms that work with both of the companies you mentioned and they both have pretty favorable reviews overall, but their downfall is customer service...there's no personalized approach or no dedicated account manager handling the SEO. And in my opinion, you can't drive a brand with random articles and a new guy working the account every week.

If I were you, I'd either find someone local that you can train to handle your SEO or outsource it to a small company that really knows their stuff. It will make your life easier in the long run and you'll make more money too.

Well I plan on QCing most of their work. I just can't handle doing every single little thing. I will still review all blogs and things that the client will actually see, if that makes any sense. Do you know of any others besides the ones I mentioned? I think the main seller with Hubshout is that they are all US based....

Like I said, HubShout is not a bad company...they're just big and hard to get a hold of in a pinch. All I can say is that you can call them and voice your concerns up front to see what they have to say...but they'd probably be a solid option if you aren't worried about micro-managing.

I would personally rather train an employee and be able to turn to them when something doesn't look right, but that's really up to you. I completely understand where you're coming from as well though; our days are long and it helps to have one less thing to worry about.

Quick note on this response. We have in-house Account Managers in our Rochester, NY office. If your revenue is over $1,000 / month, you are assigned to a specific Account Manager. The phone rings directly to this person, they are there for consultation and personalized attention. The AM will also write proposals and help your Agency grow. It is extremely personalized. We have used this methodology to help agencies grow to over $1,000,000 / year in revenues... I'd be happy to talk about how it all works.

      Cheers

HubShout is not a bad option, but there are too many firms available, providing you with white label SEO services in an affordable cost.

There are many of seo service provider but before hiring any, first ask them about their strategies they follow. It's good that you have little bit knowledge of SEO, so ask them about How they would increase traffic and rank position of high traffic keywords, what strategies they follow in building quality links. Then research about their tactics. Good luck

Hiring an SEO services is always a risk because of the kind of services that it will provide for your site. The client must know the methods that will be use in the site such as the timeline, strategies, adjustments, platforms, and so on.

Why don't you hire a freelancer? Many companies outsource their work anyway, by hiring a freelancer directly on freelancing websites you avoid a lot of hustle, and you can negotiate a good price as well.

I'm obviously biased, so I will keep my mouth closed! LOL

But seriously, the guys above are correct - you can do this all yourself if you are very organized and know what to do. I tell people every day that this stuff is NOT magic or secret. Just complicated and hard.

You can give us a call and run us through the ringer if you're intersted, Digital Strike - Targeted Marketing, our website is incomplete because we sit behind many other agencies and don't spend time on our own stuff but we're up for any question you can ask

The only problem with Hubshout is that is is too expensive. There has to be something in between eBrandz and Hubshout??

What about going on https://www.upwork.com and making my own team/seo packages? It would probably be cheaper than using one of those cookie-cutter solutions like hubshout?

      I have been looking at various SEO white label providers and here is my findings;
      1. PosiRank.com - Would have been the way to go, but way too expensive (at least for me)
      2. HubShout.com - More affordable than PosiRank and I would have considered them, but they only offer services in USA (I'm in South Africa). Initial contact with them left me feeling good, but then they don't service outside the US.
      3. eBrandz.com - May be worth considering; what puts me off, was trying to communicate with them via Skype Chat was like pulling teeth. i.e. trying to get them to understand my view point. Eventually got this sorted with a live chat (tel. call). What is offered looks good, but again a little expensive
      4. ezrankings.org - May be worth considering; what I didn't like about my initial contact with exrankings, was the delays between mailing them & getting a reply (48+ hours). May still use them for Web Design job to test them out.
      5. WildShark.co.uk - located in the UK, which means they are in the same timezone as me and thus easier to work with. They charge an hourly fee which one can scale up/down, pending on budget. They speak and provide services in English (uk), which is their 1st language and the 1st language in SA (at least for now )
No matter who you choose, do research in your area to get a benchmark for what similar services cost (i.e. what your competitors are charging). Will you still be competitive in this market after you mark-up the white label providers fee? I would suggest getting someone that can provide services in your 1st language; the last thing you want is SEO done with spelling/grammar errors. TimeZone; some of you may be comfortable working at 3am when you need to chat with your 'project manager' at your provider - I'm not and would prefer to continue working my regular hours knowing my provider is available when I am.

      Best of luck

Hi Duane, Sorry to hear that you had a problem communicating with my team. To be honest, most of my senior sales rep work in EST / PST . However, if there is potential, I do not see having staff in your time zone. In fact I was in Cape Town last year. I think its one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Would love to meet you next time I am there.

To folks who are interesting in outsourcing, I have said this before. You need to look at the type of dashboard you offer your clients. Reach Local and almost all the other players have a client dashboard. If you are not offering your clients seo/ppc/ social dashboard chances are your clients will be attracted to other companies which do offer this.

We have also added project management to our dashboard. A typical SEO project has 180 activities associated with it over a period of 6 months. Let's say you have 10 projects. So how are you going to keep track of 1800 activities. This is where the project management kicks in. It shows stuff which is done, stuff which is pending (either from your side or client side) and most importantly, it also shows activities which are supposed to be done by our team, but not yet completed. Each week you can just click on the Pending Issues and Overdue Issues tab and resolve these issues. We have got great feedback for this. You have an option which part of dashboard you show your clients.

          Hi Milind

Apologies for taking so long to reply; life tends to get in the way sometimes...
Next time you are in Cape Town, feel free to contact me. I too would like to meet you.

As per your reply; I agree that a dashboard is a useful tool, but if the representative you are dealing with cannot understand you the dashboard is merely icing on a badly baked cake. If SEO work done is done with poor grammar or spelling issues this would be a nightmare to rectify and at whose expense?

Yes, again... clients do like shiny objects like dashboards and fancy graphs but after time they will realise that its the quality of the results and not the fancy dashboard etc.

I'm not slating or 'shooting down' ebrandz.com - I haven't worked with you guys. Until I have had a personal experience i would still state ebrandz.com is still one of the top contenders for whitelabel SEO. I just don't feel 100% confident after my experience with the rep...

Yes. I agree. You had a bad experience. Nothing changes that. Try our service if you can. I met 40 agency clients across 11 cities in US in June 2015. All of them said they love the dashboard and its helping them close more deals. But you are right. Quality control is important. We try to use local writers wherever possible. So for US we have local content writing team. Same for UK and Australia. We don't have SA writers, but if needed, we can give you some options.

We have a very wide range of agency clients. As small as one man army to national agencies with several thousand employees. I assure you, no one will tolerate shoddy or sub standard work.

I will give you a shout next time I am in Cape Town.

I have been trying the Upwork (formerly odesk) route. I first tried a couple of the cheapest people $3-5/hour. Their English was too poor to do a good enough job with keyword research and writing of blogs and meta descriptions. I found a blog writer from the Philippines for less than $5/hour who writes perfectly. Turns out she does a fairly good job of keyword research and a great job of writing meta descriptions. Lastly, I found one person on Fiverr who does good keyword research. I haven't found anyone who is great, but I haven't yet offered a job on upwork for the upper level yet.

We also have been considering white labeling an SEO company until we find the best staff structure to do the mid-to upper level well. Therefore, I appreciate all the posts here.

I'm also looking for solutions for white labeling an SEO audit report to give to my customers. I will search for another thread for that or start one. Basically, I want to measure our efforts monthly and be able to show that to the customers.

eBrandz.com has a whitelabel dashboard for your client reports even if you don't use their SEO or other Services. The cost is $50 p/month.
      See: www.agencyplatform.com

If you are looking for more than just reports, RavenTools.com is a good option, offering whitelabel reports, website audits and more (from $99 p/month)
