Blogs as a subdomian or complete site?

Hi!

I can see that many SEO sites use their blog as a subdomain like blog.domain.com but howcome?

Logically it would be better to install Wordpress on a fresh separate domain and then boost the PR of the blog... this will give higher strength to the links from the blog to the main site, or am I wrong?

The links pointing to the main website would only be counted as internal links if the blog is installed on a subdomain, or what?

I think you're right on the main site will do better than on a subdomain

IMO, the blog on the domain (directory), i.e. domain.com/blog provides an optimal way of building PR strength to both the blog & main site.

Static sites are difficult to keep up since information doesn't change. If you add content to the blog, it provides a great way of fresh content to the entire site not to mention other opportunities it presents, link building, etc.

        totally agree.

Would't suggest the same if you're a huge company/website. Then would be a good idea to build a subdomained blog, which would ad a nice spot to your site.

Its good to have the blogs as the sub domain name, as it will increase the ranking for the main as well as sub (blog).

Provided that you update your blog frequently and in a very tight way. You will see your page rank increase very soon.

I think blogs are great if you make it as your site. Because blogs are easy to use and updates are easy to make unlike that of static websites.

I find they work best within your main site, as they are a great way to bung out optimized content quickly and keep the bots sniffing around your site.

    Blogsites are complete site.

But when we are making a blog there we got their sub domains. If you want a complete site for your blog. Host a site on your own domain.
