Backlinks not working

Hi,

I spent sometime contributing to several forums, blogs etc and left my backlink to my website within the signature on forums such as this forum / within the website box of a comment on blogs (as you are supposed to to create a backlink).

However I have gone onto several page rank checkers for my site and it does not seem to be identiying all these backlinks I am creating. This is a big concern for me as I want to raise my websites PR. I have waited days/weeks incase it was a time issue, Ive also checked that the blog comments have been approved. Any suggestions?

Your site's PR will only change when Google updates their public PR listings, which may be never.

Also, many forum signatures and comment links are nofollow, meaning they won't do anything for your site's authority measures (PR, PA, DA, etc).

I've read somewhere saying that Google is not updating that PR that often anymore, it's more like twice a year or maybe lesser.
It's also mentioned that PR is not a good indicator for a good website anymore.
Maybe you shouldn't mind too much about PR, keep developing good content in your website!

Well, you're creating backlinks that don't increase the PR at all. Those links are usually nofollow. Stop that silly stuff, and find better ways to build links.

Which backlink checkers have you tried? Remember, the better ones run their own crawlers so they may not see everything that Google does - and vice versa.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

You have to give it time. It may take a lot of backlinks to jump a page rank though. Although in my opinion, the page rank is not a reliable way of telling if the site is good or bad. You better focus on the quality of your backlinks so you can actually drive some traffic to your page.

Just wait, it's need more time. Because sometimes we create spammy and paid backlink that's valid only for short time. For this reason make strong backlink that's carry value more than a year.

Patience is the key. For any online business (unless not backed by a team of SEO bloggers and content writers), it will take about an year to reach that rank you deserve

If you are going after link building VIA blog comments and forum posts I would argue that your main focus should be on generating traffic from these links instead of waiting for your site’s pages PR to change (which according to Google might never happen), high quality and niche specific blog comments are a great way to generate high quality and extremely targeted traffic to your landing page/offers and I have seen very good results with that method alone (sales wise).

PR is not a very useful gauge for SEO now compared to the past. In terms of such signatures such as on WarriorForum, as mentioned above, they're nofollow. This means they'll help in terms of link diversity if you post on various such forums, but not in terms of a 'dofollow' link if that's what you're searching for.

First off PR isn't much of a factor anymore - it's value has been depreciated, and quality content and intuitive web design trumps it.

However, if you're hell bent on increasing your website's PR, then I suggest you modify the standards of your blog commenting campaign. Instead of leaving backlinks in any site you encounter, I suggest leaving ones in high PR sites, such as those 45 and above.

That, or maybe your anchor texts/phrases aren't related to the material they're pointing to.

You need to send some signals to that web page that you left your links on. Google will only index what is crawls. And with billions of pages to crawl who knows the next time the Google bot will crawl that page and notice your backlink.

Sending a few social signals to the page will usually encourage the Google bot to crawl the page again.

Weather the bot indexes your link is a game of probability.

Forum links and blog comments are all no follow, hence they don't make much difference in building links from them. Building quality links is very much important now a days in an effective way. This might be helpful to you - How to Build High Quality Backlinks in a Scalable Way
