The company owners were apparently doing illegal money pooling under a realty scheme, and Securities and Exchange Board of India banned them from collecting money from the public. They were basically investment banking without a permit.

This was then reported by The Times of India which happens to be a very authoritative site.
      hxxp://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2015-03-31/news/60682457_1_new-schemes-or-plans-illegal-money-pooling-activity-collective-investment-schemes

The worst kind of stain in the search results. Illegal activity reported by an authoritative news source. Sorry OP, but you've got an uphill battle to fight. It's possible that the news article will eventually fade.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.

This is what I would suggest..
    1) First, make sure you have Google Analytics added to the website
    2) Second, make sure you have the website added and verified in Google Webmaster Tools
    3) Look to see if Webmaster Tools is giving you any warnings or information about the link or what's causing the ranking to go down.
    4) Use a website like Ahrefs.com to get a look at some of the backlinks coming in. See if you can find the bad link(s) and save them in notepad.
    5) Use the Google Disavow toll from inside Webmaster Tools to remove the links.

    Hope it helps!

You should work on those link which provide position information and create high quality backlink for them, it's way you can push negative link in search engine results listing.

I think I don't understand. Is that a keyword for your brand? what do you mean by "negative link"?
If what you mean is that searching for your brand keyword there're results on top of you, you will need to make an SEO audit to your site, check your competitor's backlinks, their content... and try to overcome them.

None of this has a thing to do with the OP's question.

      Rich,

You need to create other web properties that you own, and a lot of them. Setup a Twitter account, Facebook page, a blog on Blogger and Tumblr, build some directory listings, and create some standalone websites. Then work to rank all of these higher than that negative article to push it down. The competition is probably not too strong, so it won't be real hard to outrank it. However, you are going to need about 20 pages that outrank it so that you knock it back off of page two. That's what is going to make it challenging, the scope of the work, not the difficulty of it.

      Good luck.

Well I second this answer... first time getting something direct from Mikey~... lol. This works... but you need to find all sort of site to go post stuff about your brand. In the long-run it doesnt work well, but short-run YES.

Long-run solution is go seek whoever the site of the negative link belongs to. Be it a forum, a news site or whatever. There is always a way, to get them remove that post. Just trade with them what they want. It could be $$$ in a very straight forward manner. I did before with mine. I paid an advertising with them. Its unethical business. But well, you just want remove it.

Second option go from Legal aspect, seek a lawyer and a good one. Go for someone experience in this type of case. Never seek lawyers who doesn't have experience in this, they will just charge you and get nothing. This way work too, get lawyer send in a red letter, and woooosh... that link disappear, Magic.

I'm not going to say these are bad options, but I would be very careful about them. The first one, especially, can blow up in your face and become much worse. The owner who posted the negative article might decide to make it public that you approached them and offered to bribe them to take it down. Now you look even worse.

Same thing could happen with the second option if you do not have a strong legal reason for demanding the content is pulled down and they have a good lawyer of their own.

They are certainly viable options, but they really have the potential to damage the brand much further.

You've probably all heard about the Streisand effect. Happens all the time, and for a good reason. Bloggers and small-time site owners often can't lawyer up, but they've got a site that got them the threat in the first place. Even if your legal argument holds and going public doesn't protect them from an actual lawsuit they might just do it to get an ego trip on your expense.

However, the site in question appears to be a newspaper. Journalists tend to have a good grasp of what they can publish, and legal representation. They also operate on journalistic principles. If the article is not truthful they may either remove it or correct it. They may even feel obligated to publish your views if you've got a good argument or evidense for your defence.

Well yeah, that is what we did in Singapore. They just removed it. Like Mikey said... you must have valid reasons. But I like I said, a good lawyer is more important than anything else. He knows how to tackle it.

You know, XXXXXX needs skills too. Not to mention I am not promoting it, but just saying you need Max Level XXXXXXX skill with a 100% accuracy to make it work. Or else you are just burning your own. And it really is an option.

What kind of negative link? The link against you or your brand or your business? Someone writes against your business on a blog or on a guest blogging site or what? Please let me know so I can help your accordingly. I maintain brand keyword "Ryan Eagle". About 3 months ago it had 4-5 bad links against him and showed on top #10. But now this brand keyword's top #16 is clear.

How about reading the post? OP is asking for help in reputation management, not spam link removal. A newspaper isn't likely going to drop an article if the contents match the reality.

if you are talking about negative link - you mean negative review about a company, here are the best things to do:

    - concentrate more on posting positive reviews on review sites.
    - contact bloggers or website adminstrators (those who are authoritative on your service niche), ask them to feature your service or your product (you might need to pay them)
    - if you have an external/managed blog, post a positive review, feature the product/service
    - run a banner display campaign on social media pages like Facebook or Google's display network to increase brand exposure
    - feature awards, accreditation

Negative reviews are something we can't avoid. But always remember, there's always a way.

    Hi,

What you can do is talk about the criticisms or answer them wisely via your proper website. This will help keyword generation that were previously noted as negative turn positive over time.

Does this really help? The site is so strong that you're probably not going to hurt them. You might just generate a boost for that individual page even if the links were bad.

Yes, I checked search engine results for keyword “Rich Infra” and found a negative link on the first page of Google. Having negative reviews and fixes requires appropriate planning and efforts. One of the easiest ways to overcome this is to create positive profiles with positive content and through internal linking. Creating profile on high authority sites help you to push down link negative link.

That's got absolutely nothing to do with this request. It's not a backlink, but a link that appears in the Google search.

In some cases and depending on your jurisdiction Google might remove search results if you request that, but they're likely to see the public interests as more important in a case such as this.

As per my experience in the reputation management marketing social media profile are the best way to push down your negative links from Google 1st page. You can create social media profile which are most popular and daily used by numbers of people. Then promote these all social media accounts through SEO service and appear top of Google with organic search results. By this ways negative links automatically pushed down.

    Eligibility to participate in AdSense

Have you owned your site for 6 months?
In some locations, including China and India, we require publishers to have owned their sites for 6 months. We've taken this step to ensure the quality of our advertising network and protect the interests of our advertisers and existing publishers.
Yup, google, that racist meanie! Why the nerve!

I cannot believe you people use the same internet that I do, cuz you
sure are behind the times if you did not know about china, india,
pakistan, russia, romania, nigeria, turkey, etc. etc. etc.

Any seo person who claims to know the damage these countries can
do to you and your business, is a fool. And those fools seem to have
    lots of company.

The WF would do themselves a great deal by eliminating the SEO
crap spouted from certain countries. The spam, cons, scams, schemes,
    just abound.

That's not racism. Burying your head in the sand is quite foolish.

Here's tip for the real people here: Never get links from these countries if
you value your website. The more backlinks from websites from these
countries, the worse you are going to get. One of the more popular ways
of trying to get someone's site downgraded, is to have a russian, indian,
etc. site start giving you tons of backlinks.

Quite a few people from time to time come here and just don't know why
they are starting to find mysterious links...

    From Russia, with love!

This might just be the biggest non sequitur you've ever posted. For some reason you hold Adsense's policies as a Google's opinion of everything SEO, but now you're generalizing that to be a comment on a society. It's neither, and using such a flimsy argument as a trump card just highligts your willing ignorance.

India and China can produce a lot of content, and much of the supposedly English-speaking new sites happen to be incoherent gibberish. That's not scamming, just poor execution. That mass of low quality sites alone is enough for Google to do something like this. Trying to get Adsense money for paid traffic doesn't seem to be Indian phenomenon either.

As far as I know Adsense requires more human intervention that search, and that's not easy to scale. Google's roadblock is there to drop the cases that land on their desks.

I know where your head is buried from time to time. Be careful or you will need a proctologist to help you.
