I'm genuinely interested in hearing the opinions of the members here, pertaining to the way SEO has changed from 2010 to 2015. Ideally in a response of 100 words or less, though if you have to go longer, I'll probably find it in myself to endure such an epic.

I'll begin with my own 100-word-or-less answer.

In 2010, SEO was about getting as many links as possible, preferably of the natural, non-solicited variety. In 2015, SEO is about getting as many links as possible, preferably of the natural, non-solicited variety. The difference being that in the year 2015, no one knows how to go about doing that.

51 words, well within the limit.

Now tell me if I'm right or wrong, or more ideally respond the original question as if you'd never read my answer.

From a writer's perspective, 2010 (and prior) was about publishing as much content (or search engine food as we called it) as possible. Today, it's about publishing quality content without regard for word length or publication frequency.

SEO in 2010 was full of hacks and used as a primary marketing channel

SEO in 2015 has people scared and afraid to test, and has fallen to one of the lesser favored marketing channels. <3

No one knows how to go about doing that!?!?!??! Sheeesh.

In 2010, people believed myths. In 2015, given your response, it appears they
    still do.

So, nothing has changed. Literally and figuratively. What worked in 2010,
    and before, still does today.

What changes is myths and how people address them.
