Use SEO by Yoast or All in One plugin in worfpress..in order to know the keyword density

keyword density does matter but seems to have a loose tolerance... normal speech is usually enough, but you may need to put a little extra emphasis on what your page is about or the keywords people use to find what your about.

Matt cuts said the more you add a keyword, you will see a increases in ranking only to the point where Google needs it to tell what your talking about. After then it will peak, and then slide downhill if over used.

None of them seem to show the keyword density in real-time and they also don't allow me to select other languages. I'll stick with the same tool for now.

Every thread about keyword density gets the mandatory deer in headlights image.

I rank in first or near first for several keywords with some competitiveness... And it was mainly done by using keywords in a good manner and high quality content to generate more backlinks/votes

I'm going to call BS on the whole keyword density being important these days. Seen too many pages rank extremely well, with keyword density all over the map.

I think we've moved beyond this type of stuff-write for conversions and then build links, internal and external to rank the page.

I put my keyword within the first 100 words of my article only once, and that's it.

I just searched for "keyword density" on Google, and this is still on page 1:

I believe keyword density, like loads of other things you hear about IM, is just a myth.

Use about 100% of keyword Density and You will rank in Google, Yahoo, Bing within 1 hour, plus nobody will be able to outrank you.

Keyword density is one of those things tha tmight have been important in the past but has changed now.

The reason keyword density became an important factor to begin with is that google needed to fight keyword stuffing and other spammy/blackhat practices.

That is still true today, but the zoo algorithms have mostly taken care of all that crap and still guard the web.

What came next was the realisation that people were testing patterns (in this case keyword density percentages) to see which ones worked best. That's why you find those percentages around still today ( they vary too).

I recently saw a case study with keyword densities over 20% that did not seem to be penalised in any way. To tell you the truth that content granted the highnumber of mentions.
It seems to me that Google is getting close to the Nirvana of semantics to know when your content grants the keyword density or not.

A simple example: a website about chicken recipes. A recipe article will go something like this:

Buy the best quality chicken you can find. free range is best.
Marinate your chicken with xyz ingredients. After it has been marinating for 12 hours, place your chicken on an oven tray with xyz vegies.
Cook it for xyz time on oan oven at xyz temp.
When the chicken in ready, take it out and soak it with the juices with a spoon for a minute, turn it round and give it two more minutes...

Get my drift? the word chicken in there has a density much higher than everything sais about percentages (1 to 3%, 2to 5%, etc) but it is necesary. It is naturally written content and you have not forced the keywor dinto it.

I can place the word chicken many more times in those few sentences if i wanted and it would still look mostly natural if i used a specific style of writing but that might be overdoing it.

the really important thing now seems to be to make sure that Google knows what you are talking about, so well written content is as important as it has ever been (it should always have been that way to begin with). Don't overdo it, just write naturally and you should not have problems.

Understand and use Keyword Density in this manner -
Quality Content - That doesn't care about keywords in content (lower keyword density)
Low quality Content - Over used of keywords in content (High % of keyword density)

While it used to be possible to keyword stuff content to game the search engines, that is less true today. I'm a believer in LSI (latent semantic indexing) whereby the SEs understand the meaning of a page even if they keyword isn't exactly present. SEs today know about synonyms and can extract meaning from text, allowing for creative and interesting use of language. Without tedious keyword repetition the content you create will be of more interest and read better to a search user –increasing the user experience

I don't know what people say But I think 'keyword density' is not a good ranking factor. The best is to use keyword naturally.

Don't try to make it 1,2 or 3%...

I'm saying this because when I started learning SEO. I believe that putting keywords 20 times in 1000 words long article would work better. But when I did this, I came to know that there is no ranking.
My article was 2400+ words having 20+ keywords. But nothing happened.

But now I know that keyword is no more worthy. Instead use your keyword wisely. Don't repeat the same word again and again instead use different or LSI words to make your content more relevant.

Keyword density is the number of times a keyword or phrase appears in content, in SEO reference it symbolizes whether a webpage is relevant to given keyword phrase or not!
For example- In a content of 500 words-3% of keywords stuffing is relevant. More than this can be considered as search spam. Therefore to avoid this, do keep the density between 1 to 3%.
It is considered as an important factor in page ranking.
