Submitting more than 1 sitemap to Google a good idea?

Hi,

I do SEO for a recruitment company which has a large number of jobs on it and lots being added and removed each day.

We have an XML feed set up for all of our jobs and I was wondering, with Google Webmaster Tools if it was advisable to add 2 sitemaps:

1 with the static pages on the site and 1 with the jobs (i.e. the existing xml feed) - would this work do you think.

All the best,

Mischa

Having more than one site map is common and won't harm you in google's eyes. It is usually used for subdirectories or categories. In your case the static pages may be interspersed with the dynamic ones, so why bother? Since you will be updating the site map all the time, why not include the static pages?

Yeah, it would really make that much difference.

I also use a different sitemap for the static part of my site and a dynamic sitemap for a /blog

I'd add it without worrying about it too much. I think that if they had a problem with it, they would not allow it.
