i submitted my site to easy link sharing a few days ago. moz tool bar says it has a PA23 and DA23 and a spam score of 2/17. it has a trust flow of 1 by majestic and a citation flow of 15 by majestic. it says i have 941 dofollow links from it. that kinda freaked me out and makes me wonder if this is going to do more harm than good and if so should i disavow this link and how do you do that?

I would never use a service called Easy Link Sharing. Ever.

None of those metrics mean a thing about the quality of links you will be getting. Totally useless.

I can tell you what the quality of links are by the name of the service. Shit. Total shit.

The reason there are that many links showing is they most likely have some sort of widget running on the site similar to a 'Recent Comments' widget you will see on many Wordpress sites. You were showing up in that widget when it was crawled, so it looks like you have tons of links. You'll roll off that widget and it will diminish. Visit the site and look for that. Nothing to worry about usually.

i was skeptical in the first place and like an idiot i did it anyway. ive stopped trying to get backlinks now untill i have a complete understanding of it. Im homeless and have lost everything to my name except my computer. i obviously need to make moneyas fast as possible and ive finily found something i love. "SEO and Website design" i educate myself all day everyday on this and will not stop untill i master it and can become succesful at it. I really appreciate you taking the time out to anwser my questions.

I'm relatively new to SEO concepts and practice, been programming for a long time though. At first I think I had a similar view about seo as it relates to link building and how to rank pages. What I didn't know was the time required -- everything, getting pages indexed, creating content even looking up stats in WebMasterTools is always a couple of days behind. It all takes time.

It certainly isn't something I'd look to do if in a desperate situation. BUT, you can do it in addition to other money making activities for sure! Sounds like you need a bit of income stability first (any amount is better than none) and work on your seo afterwards.

I've chosen to build into local markets for higher ticket items, as I thought there is a bit more opportunity to find niches and keywords with lower competition at local city-level markets. It's allowed me to rank much faster! Still work left to do in order to get to page 1 but I am close.

        Take care.

I would never disavow anything. It's a mostly useless tool.
Google of course wants people to use it to identify crazy
webmasters and websites that fall for their spam identity
program. You now admit you are a "spammer," and you
have indeed good places to spam. Google has done
other things like this, as in nofollow.

Disavowing also serves the purpose of making people feel
good, and that they are doing something. Instead of just
ignoring the pesky fleas and gnats, they give them a useless
activity under the guise that it means something.

Of course I have heard official google people tell you that if
you are going to use the disavow tool, then you must do it
in the largest way possible. That is, disavow the hundreds, if
not thousands, of links. Mind you this makes no sense either,
as you would end up like a hamster on a wheel going nowhere,
but putting out a good, but wasted effort!

Just thought of something funny. Google thinks there are a ton
of webmasters caught like hamsters in a cage.

          Think outside the cage.

Disavow the links is not actually removing links .Google simply treats disavowed links as nofollow links. The links still remain on that website. you need to contact the domain owners for removing the links.so only the links removed permanently. If not possible to contact the webmasters you can disavow the links.

This is exactly why anyone selling links to the public would have to be out of their tree.

    The flow:
    • New guy to SEO wants to rank a page
    • Buys public link package
    • Does link audit on paid links
    • Panic & regret sets in...
    • Disavows paid links via Webmaster Tools
    • Google sends them a Thank Card for outing the paid public link seller
    • Public link seller fills out application at McDonalds

If you think you should disavow it, you should. That rule has never failed me.

I personally find simplicity works well. I used to be like many marketers who used to over-analyze everything, and figure out the "perfect" way to control the system, but I found it's like driving - there's so many things that can go wrong, and if you keep trying you're going to take those wrong turns.

I just found a site that's spinning my original articles and then adding an attribution link to my original article at the bottom of his spun version. (Maybe he thinks I won't go after him if he gives me a backlink from his crap domain?)

Does anybody know whether Google cares about that sort of thing? Should I try to get him to take it down? Should I Disavow the link?
