So, i want to create several sites where i will be reviewing Amazon products from different categories. So, should i go for buying new separate domains for each of my site or create sub domains for each of my targeted niche products?
Have any of you tried this plan? What was the result?

Check out toptenreviews.com. Killin it. They use a main site and subdomains.

It really depends on the type of marketing you're doing and your tolerance for risk.

Planning to build a lot of links? Probably go with multiple sites.

If your promotion is clean go with 1 site and subdomains.

I got the idea from them. Reading posts on this topic for last 3 hours. So much controversy. Even google uses sub domain to promote their different services. So, i am not sure should i go for it or not. Allthough top10 is doing a hell lot of business using sub domains. Have you tried creating sub domains to promote different niches within same category? How was your experience?

I've done it once, and I want to revisit it.

My first foray made a bunch of money but I got it nuked within 6 months. Way too aggressive, even for 2010. I used autoblog content and automated links.

I'm trying to figure out a mass scale whitehat way to build out a blog network like Wordpress.com, niched down and just suck in as much traffic as humanly possible, then sort it and direct it where it needs to go to make money.

I can tell you Wordpress MultiUser (WPMU) will make your life a lot easier. It's a pain in the ass to learn at first, but worth the effort over having to manage multiple subdomains, because they're still separate sites.
