This is just a short wake up call to anyone who thinks SEO is a dying industry and it's crazy to invest in it, even partially.

There are loopholes like this happening daily on a massive scale. They patch them and new ones appear!

Google sure deserves credit for aggressively sorting out spam but is FAR from being all knowing, totally perfect divine as some people think.

Your fear is illusion. Get to work!

    First, it has nothing to do with SEO.

    Second, when one does silly, stupid, idiotic searches, one
    will get silly, stupid, idiotic results.

    And it's always been that way.

    Why?

    Simple. Google assumes most people using its search
    engine are real people doing real searches for real things.

    Anyone searching for google on google, is, well, an idiot.

    You can't fix all glitches, because you can't fix stupid.

    The only side note perhaps might be people rethinking a
    google plus page. Something I have said before that might, just might,
    be a social thingy that google maybe, just maybe, might like.

    Outranks for what exactly? I'm "outranking" Google for several keywords.

    Sounds like this "loophole" is how Google intended the system to work.

      This one was fixed quickly but there are some much more under the radar and it is possible to turn them into a "business model". Might be risky though.

        Ah, there was an article. Mobile didn't show that.

        In computer jargon we call these "bugs", and they do happen. It's got very little to do with SEO, and nothing to do with SEO being "dead".
