I have a blog which is the root domain of my site. Now i have created a forum for my viewers which is in the subdomain as in forums.xyz.com. My query is that I want to redirect few of my urls from the blog to the consecutive forum urls. How can I create 301 redirects ? I am using godaddy hosting and also this change will effect the rank of those blog urls in the SERP's?
#301 #query #redirect

    IIS Redirect

In internet services manager, right click on the file or folder you wish to redirect
Select the radio titled "a redirection to a URL".
    Enter the redirection page
Check "The exact url entered above" and the "A permanent redirection for this resource"
    Click on 'Apply'

Doesn't Godaddy give you cPanel? If so, you can just log into that and create 301 redirects for any page / folder and point them anywhere on the web.

You could also learn how to redirect with the .htaccess file.

Yeah, I have successfully redirected it. But is my rankings going to change?

It should push any rankings that the URL being redirect had, onto the URL being redirected to.

ie, what you had before will be maintained.

Don't expect any boosts or anything because of it though.
