    I'll be straightforward here:

I recommend using Paperrater. It's a grammar and spelling checker website with a pinch of plagiarism-detecting capabilities mixed in. It's free, so it's a viable option.

You may also want to use Copyscape - it's more comprehensive and can detect plagiarism better, though it's a paid service.

OP +1 for Copyscape. They have this Premium API which allows your developers to easily integrate Copyscape Premium into your CMS.

You'll need to set up CopyScape to automatically check your domain. You'll have to code the rejection of the article yourself. I know that Textbroker does this. It won't be cheap. If you're letting just anyone upload content, a lot of it is going to be scraped.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

Agree with Mabaviation. That's a common problem with free checkers. You should check each text few times to be sure it's unique((

Ahh, ok probably they've put restrictions now. The last time I've used it, it was totally freeware. You search other software then, just type any keyword on the search bar e.g. "plagiarism software". Sourceforge is a download site for FREEWARE or experimental software download site from various developers, it's a cool site thus my recommendation.
