Why is PR even considered for anything SEO these days especially backlinks

Unless I missed a new update, wasn't PR reporting and updates by Google eliminated

Especially since all the evidence is based more on your websites total domain value

The one thing and ONLY thing I use PR for is to see if G even acknowledged the site to begin with. It's a starting point for buying expired domains that is quickly fading. 3-5 years from now there will be plenty of PR0 sites that might be anything from PR1-10 without anyone knowing differently.

You did miss that they still update it and use it; they just no longer export it to the toolbar

      Ha Ha

of course hence the title dead for the Masses

everything they do now is internal to them

including not letting you know your keywords in analytics

if this is this the case why are people still referring to PR like it is still updated and relevant to to SEO

you might use like hipeopo02 mentioned above

but over and over people everywhere talk about it like it is important to know the PR values when it really doesn't mean anything anymore

    Because they're outdated.

People who know SEO understand that there is more to trust flow, citation flow, social signals, relevance/quality/diversity of links, diversity of referring domains than there is to PR.
