301 Redirect or Combine Pages?

I have written a blog post on the top companies in my industry the last two years, so there is one post on the top companies from 2014 and one from 2015. The post for 2014 ranks really well for several key search terms, but the post for 2015 isn't ranking very well. I'd prefer that the new content be viewed because it's currently relevant. So I'm considering the following:

1) 301 redirect the 2014 url to the 2015 url. Then, change the 2014 url to something unique so the page can still exist and readers can view the previous year's results.

2) 301 redirect the 2015 url to the 2014 url and add the 2015 content to the 2014 post...keeping the 2014 content on the page as well..essentially combining both posts on one page so readers can conveniently view the information on one page. If I do this, I'd also need to change the H1 tag from "Top Companies 2014" to either "Top Companies" or "Top Companies 2015".

Please let me know what you think and if you have any other recommendations...thanks!!

    Don't do a 301 redirect.

On the 2014 page that's already ranked add a 2015 anchor-text internal link pointing to the new page.
