Google algorithm doesn't like facebook. Out of all social networks, fb ranks worst. Not worth putting effort in it.

Obviously, you know nothing about google's algorithm.
      But I digress.

Google ranks FB pages just fine, if they are set up right.

Problem is, I would never want to put as much effort into ranking a FB
page as I would my money page. That would be a waste.

I might, just might, put some effort into ranking a FB group page, make it
      public. Make it all public.

How do you explain facebook being the works ranked social networks then?
Google doesn't index fb posts, that's the main reason why it's hard to rank them.

        @OP:
The best way to optimize the page is to fill it with keywords that you want to rank for as well as relevant information for local SEO like your address and phone number. Also, make sure you get your custom URL

Huh? We are talking about FB pages, not posts.....BIG difference.

Webpages are webpages. Period. None are harder to rank, all things
being equal. FB pages have nothing working against them.

I have no idea where you people live.

Many, many social media accounts and pages have HUGE authority
and ranking power. From twitter to YT, your account and/or pages
          can do just fine.

In fact, many twitter and FBs will outrank main pages from the
business or organization, depending on what google thinks you
are looking for. Many of these accounts do all their news and
updates via twitter, FB, YT, etc.

Not indexing posts, urls, etc. has nothing to do with shinola.

Do a search for new york mayor updates, you get his twitter #1.

It depends on google how it ranks a facebook page or other social media pages. No one knows how the algo of G is working.

Increase the authority of your page as well as you followers (targeted followers), make your page active - Suggestion only!

This is not at all possible. Social networks only for driving good traffics. Of course, some business pages got some decent rank in SERP. But Don't put lots of work into it. Its all wasting of time.

Use hash tags with keywords in posts but don't over do it. 1 to 4 post per day is good practice.

I have never really had much luck with mine ranking, but then again I've never put much effort into it aside from just the basic on-page optimization. I have a few FB pages ranking page one for some long tail keywords that get like less than 3K searches per month. They pretty much just ranked themselves though because of how little search volume and competition they have. I've always just got the vibe that Google doesn't really care for FB pages too much.

  • Facebook pages rank really well.

I've got one of my pages ranking number 2 for a competitive 2 word keyword, ranking higher than my main website which I've been trying to rank for that keyword.

Mind you the fan page had less than 30 likes when it ranked number 2.
