Hi experts,

I have something to know...

My site is already indexed by Google...But I want to block googlebot now for massive re-constructions...Can I block googlebot for nofollow and noindex my site for few days...Moreover my site is already submitted to Google webmaster tools...

I want to know is there any possibilities to get penalized from Google if I request to noindex my site after submit it to google webmaster tools and analytics?

please help me ...I want to know that....

    Is there such a necessity to block googlebot? I don't think your site will be penalized but it will be hard to get back your positions after that.

    You don't have to that..just let your site up and index on google..you can use a custom index file that have a message that your site is under construction..

    That's a very, very bad idea. If you're doing "massive" work on a site you should take a copy of the site and put it someplace else where Google and your visitors can't access it. Many webhotels allow several domains, some people like to use virtual machines or something like that on their local computer, or you can get a new account for couple of dollars per month.

    You're probably not going to get penalized, but lower rankings are not the same as being penalized. I would never shoot myself in the foot like the way you describe.
