Hi everyone,

I have a simple SEO question. Sometimes I see video's from news sources like yahoo screen and vimeo. I like to embed them in my posts and discuss the topics. By doing this does it assist with SEO for my site?

      Actually when you embed a video of someone on your website, you're giving them free backlink which is good for their video ranking..

      For you, indirectly they can help.. If that news story is quite big, and seems to be going viral. That could help you get traffic on that kind of topic when you talked about it.. Also the video would help you reduce the bounce rate of visitors to your site if they would watch the video..

      So it's quite indirectly helping..

        Embedding the videos from other resources is a good strategy. However the important thing you have to look in these strategy is whether the video you are going to link has the related content and does it get you the traffic for your blog. This strategy is not new, already most of the new blogs post some viral videos and news to get the traffic. If you are embedding videos in your posts, users will spend much more time with your blog.
