Hello

When I check my website in google I can see two pages indexed which I created a page about but then deleted. How do I stop these showing up as indexed?

When I click on them it just takes me to a 404 page, I just want to get them de indexed and not showing up when I search my site:mywebsite.com

Does anyone know how to resolve this
thanks

If you already delete the page, just wait for a couple times then google will remove it from their database.

Make a new page on the old web site, call it exactly the same thing as the page you want deleted. When the new page is indexed, it will replace the page you want deleted. Then you can redirect the traffic somewhere else if you choose. The old page you want deleted may still show up occasionally in the Internet archives for that time period, but that will be rare.
