Expired domain name - will it get ranked instantly on Google?

I noticed that new domain names will take longer to get ranked on G for some keywords. I never tried expired domain names. Will I get ranked instantly on Google if I use expired domain names then get one or two backlinks to it? Or is it depends on other factors as well?

There are over 200 ranking factors in google algorithm. Domain age is only one factor.

OP asked about expired domain, not exact match domain.

When you buy an expired domain, the "age" clock resets. It has no benefit of being "aged." Not to mention that not everyone agrees that domain age is very important anyway.

No, backlinks don't "expire." If a site owner notices he's linking to an expired domain he will probably remove the link. But a link doesn't automatically "expire." If you buy an expired domain, set up hosting, and add a little content, the links that point to that domain will all be valid.

A person starts with an expired domain to get the benefit of starting with a domain that already has some backlinks to it. So, carefully check the backlink profile of the expired domain you're thinking of buying. Also check it in archive.org and screenshots.com to figure out if it was used in the past in a PBN or was used in a "bad neighborhood" (selling viagra, cheap ugg boots, etc). In those cases the domain might have a Google penalty on it, and you don't want to start off with a domain that is penalized.

No, but it help you to rank faster than if you would start with a brand new domain.
I always recommend working with expired domains and building PBN's instead of starting with a new domain.

No, it won't expired domain can't get ranked by any search engine because ranking factor depends on
    domain age only.

There are lots of different factors that come into play. Is the expired domain still indexed in Google? If so, how many pages are still indexed? Does it have 1 or 2 backlinks, or more? Depending on the metrics, it will more than likely start getting SE traffic quicker than a brand new domain. Still, you need to get some good content on it before the traffic can start rolling back in!

No, there is no approval that expired domain name will get ranked instantly because as once the domain gets expired immediately all its backlinks will also gets expired. So, there is no assurance that expired domains will ranks instantly. It is up to the way the link building has been done to the expired domains after once it has been bought again.

It is not so much the age of a domain that helps it rank better than a new domain. It is more about the backlink profile that comes along with it.

If the website is already indexed then it will be easier to rank it than a new domain as google will notice your content much quicker.

It is always nice if it has other good stats such as PR, DA/PA, CF/TF etc as well.

Buying exact match domain name will help but that is only the beginning. You need to understand and program what exactly is high quality content and apply high quality SEO programming. Generally, buying the exact match (e.g. http://globaldealsdirect.skybridgedomains.com)
the rest, you still need to do SEO programming on page and off.

  • Just because the domain is expired doesn't mean it will magically rank on google page one. Now if it has a good amount of quality links built to it and the da is a few years old then i could see it ranking without much effort if any at all

No the domain name may not get ranked right away on Google.

Ensure when you are buying expired domains that they have not been banned before by Google.

You also need to build up the site and ensure that it looks real to Google. Create a few blog posts and ensure the site is visually appealing.

I don't think so, you can consider that as a myth and you can refer to this reference:
