Is there any way to detect duplicate content w/out Copyscape?

I hire people to write content for me. Of course, when I checked with PlagSpotter - Online Duplicate Content Checker Tool the content is 100% unique and there is no other websites match my content. However, after reading this thread, I'm kinda not trust tools like Copyscape etc.

    Hey Az

    I buy copy too.

So if you don't trust the tools do it manually.

Just take a few sentences or paragraphs and Google them. If it's already indexed on some other site you'll know right away. It might take a little time this way, but it works.

I'm in the habit of taking the copy I buy and testing it with the testers. Then I'll throw a few key sentences or paragraphs into Google search just to be sure.

You can use dupli checker to check the contents instead of copy scape.

    How about Google?

If you want to know if those words exist in that particular order just search for exact phrase.

If you want something more useful, like all the articles that Google sees as pretty much the same as yours, just do a normal search. This should also tell you wether "uniqueness" matters at all.
