Homepage ranking above page

hello

the keyword Im trying to rank for which is a product + review keyword page is not ranking at all,

however my homepage were I link to my page I'm trying to rank is ranking above this page, even though my homepage is not optimised for the keyword at all?

any idea why?

    Have you confirmed your page is indexed?

    If it is indexed, is the page ranking at all for the keyword phrase? For example is homepage at 1 and the page at 50?

      Yeah the page is indexed, my page I'm trying to rank for it is not showing up for that keyword at all, however my homepage is on page 12 for this keyword however it's not in the title,description or anything, it's mentioned in 1 line when I'm linking to the page I wanted to rank for it.

      I think it's because my website is quite new and at the moment the only backlinks are sent to my homepage and not the inner pages.. still a but weird to me
