Let's say i have 10 posts on websites - each one of then is 200 word long.

I would like to increase their rankings by adding more high quality text (500 word article).

Should i just update the posts, or maybe - for SEO it's better to delete them, and create new posts (this time 500 word long + new url).

Thanks.

Try to update your posts adding new contents. It's better add 1500+ words to that posts.Highly describe your topic with images, charts, sliders...etc

    Don't delete them.

If those pages are in Google SERPs or have been posted on social media, those links will lead to 404 or "dead" and removed pages, which isn't a good.

Your best course of action is to somehow plaster long and high quality content over them

You can do both simultaneously. You can write more rich and unique content (more than 500 words) while you can update your old content to make it more useful for your regular or returning visitors.

If the present posts does not have good rankings in the search engines means, then it is best to replace the old posts with the new posts or else if the old posts are having good search engine traffic, DA and rankings means, then please update the article only.
