I am throwing out both: Onpage and offpage techniques - you need them both for now.

For e.g., 101 Ways to Make People Jealous of You or 100 Ways to Conserve Water on Daily Basis

8. 'Bringing back from the dead': Interlink the posts. Use the ones which are buried somewhere in your website and put links in the popular ones.

9. To find awesome link targets, use "Best of" lists.

Get on to work with these first.

I think this is the most complete answer of the lot. I agree 100% percent that you need both on page and off page SEO. You first have to start with on page SEO and only once that is done can you start thinking about of page promotion.

Most of the answers are just lists of activities. Probably not activities the lister engages in.

They all seem to forget that it's not just what you do but how you do it.

And, actually, the how is often far more important.

Take forum posting on this forum. Lots of people just type some half-baked idea about SEO, because they sell SEO, or about social bookmarking, because they sell bookmarking.

But they don't get that is spamming and spamming is less useful, unless it's truly massive (and they don't do massive) than a thoughtful post.

They don't get that it's not enough for people to see your link, they have to b convinced to click on it.

You're right, that was a useful post.

U can increase traffic on your website by using SMO to your site. Traffic can also be increase by Social Bookmarking, Image posting and classified adds.

SEO, Social Media and getting authority links helps immensely when it comes to getting organic traffic. I can attest to that. If you really need lots of traffic now, perhaps you can try paying for it via webtrafficgeeks or traffmagnet? I tried the former but not the latter.

You mean FaceBook and such? They do nothing for SEO, the links are rel-nofollow.

If you do engage properly, people will visit your site, some might link to it... But that's not because you're doing SEO, that's because you're providing the right kind of content/answers/questions/engagement.

If you say they're good for SEO, you're basically inviting people to get backlinks from networking sites, therefore, misleading them.

Everybody wants more traffic and even when they get more they still want even more. We all want more traffic. Could some please post lists of directories, forums, ect for getting more traffic.

You need to simplify your site, It's hideous and confusing. Sorry to be harsh, but you need a simple black and white set up, and ditch the fancy menu's.

You want traffic? It's content, content, content..... and you've got next to nothing, against the like of 'Howto'.

Why do you have:

terms of use
privacy policy
contact us

.... in that top menu? That's useless info, put it down the bottom. You should have at least, your various topics on the top bar, celebs, animals etc.

Who on earth would want to know about this?

Want more traffic? So does everyone else. I would start with PPC and see what happens. If you have the budget then hire someone to do on and off page seo for your website and get organic search traffic.
